4.0 out of 5 stars Fun squirt gun
These work nicely and have a good range. I bought them for my boys (6 and 2). Not sure how well they would work for a water fight with older kids, but my boys like them.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit unwieldy, use this only if you have good cover
You have to pump this gun. The selling point is that you can essentially use it like a standard water gun (weak water stream, only goes short distance) or pump a large amount (e.g. monsoon) of water on your unsuspecting family member. You have to pump this gun. The selling point is that you can essentially use it like a standard water gun (weak water stream, only goes short distance) or pump a large amount (e.g. monsoon) of water on your unsuspecting family member. It better be unsuspecting - b/c it takes a good amount of pumping and practice to get this to work. Plus, once you have dumped the "monsoon" you aren't going to have much water left over for much more. So, great for sneak attacks - but not your only water gun in a water fight.

The product came in a working condition but only shot water about 10 ft and the "Monsoon" action even less. The item broke on the second refill. It was a poor purchase.

The gun has two spray nozzles built in: one fine jet and the other is a gusher. Each nozzle has its own trigger. What I did not like was the fill access on the gun. You almost need a funnel to fill the resevoir. Can be hard to fill, if you use a garden hose. The pump on the gun we have takes forever to build up pressure. I was afraid the pump handle was going to break. If you don't mind the aerobic workout, its not a bad toy.

I feel terrible writing a negative review about any product, but I don't want anyone to waste money on something that should be durable and fun for kids. The "monsoon" aspect doesn't spray far and this thing weighs a lot, even for me, let alone our kids, (ages 4-6). The pump in the front is not ergonomically designed, is kinda awkward for kids' arms to reach and pump up and down 15 times to get it going. It is easy to fill and the regular trigger is easy for kids to use. We have found others that are much better for all ages. We wouldn't have purchased this if we had known all of this before, so I hope this helps others.

my friends' nephews (age 6/7?) really wanted water guns so i went to amazon and found this one. the description was great "monsoon force POWER" so i ordered two right away. the kids love it, but i don't think they have anything to compare it to. the one thing i don't like about this gun is how awkward pumping it is! you don't pull forward and backward like you would a supersoaker, but you kind of crank it in a 45 degree angle, where the handle points at you, and then to the ground, you, then the ground; that makes pumping really difficult. the "monsoon" really isn't that powerful either. you pump and pump and pump only to get a big gush of water that goes maybe 1-2 feet? the normal spray stream is pretty thin/weak as well. i think toward the end of their play time the boys resorted to opening up the cap to the water tank and just went after one another with the water that way. oh well.

Got this and another one together for like $7 as some kind of end of summer deal. It's worth what I paid for it, but not a whole lot more. It's fun, my 3 year old son and I run around out back shooting eachother with them. Feels pretty breakable, the plastic is not very good, but it still works after about 6 months so i guess it's not to fragile. I'd reccomend this if you can get it cheap and are looking for something better then the $2-$5 guns at target, but don't wanna spend the money for a super soaker.

Expected more from this water gun. It was clog initially and took a lot of force to make the pumping mechanisim to work.

The water gun is constructed of very cheap plastic. The water stream is very weak no matter how much you pump it up. The monsoon feature shoots a large amount of water to a distance of about 18 inches in front of the gun for about 1 1/2 seconds before it is out of pressure and/or water. The pump handle position makes it awkward to pump very quickly. This may be a good item to have as a spare for extra kids that want to play, but only if you can get it cheap. I paid $7.50 with no shipping charge and I'm still not sure I received my moneys worth.
