5.0 out of 5 stars Great 90's R&B Overview
This is an excellent retrospective of 90's R&B. All of these songs top anything that is being done in R&B today. It's a grear listen straight through. Destiny Child's first smash "No No No" kicks off the album wonderfully along with well-known jams from Nexr and Blackstreet. One of Monica's early hits is here which is "Don't Take It Personal" followed by R Kelly's #1...

This is an excellent retrospective of 90's R&B. All of these songs top anything that is being done in R&B today. It's a grear listen straight through. Destiny Child's first smash "No No No" kicks off the album wonderfully along with well-known jams from Nexr and Blackstreet. One of Monica's early hits is here which is "Don't Take It Personal" followed by R Kelly's #1 smash "Bump n Grind." En Vogue's best song of their career "Don't Let Go" is a great addition as is the irresistible 1998 hit "Ghetto Superstar." Jade's "Don't Walk Away" is definitely one of my favorites. "On Bended Knee" is a great ballad from Boyz II Men although I think a couple other of their songs would've been better. Adina Howard's "Freak Like Me" is a fairly good song as is the closing track "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number" from the late Aaliyah.

This CD is great just to put on and listen straight through. There is no down right bad track on the album *although some songs are better than others.* I think a track from Mariah Carey could've been added. She was the biggest pop/R&B artist of the 90's and I think her 1995 hit "Fantasy" would've been heavenly on here, but it's still great. Highly recommended for any R&B fan. Ashanti, Ja Rule, and company...take notes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Monsta Jamz, September 16, 2002

Great R&B muisc, brings back memories of the old school jamz. Most of the songs were good and there were 3 songs that I didn't like because they either gave me bad memories or I just didn't know that particular song. Its nice that you get 2 CDS at such a low price.

2.0 out of 5 stars Am I missing Something Here?, April 15, 2008
This review is from: Monsta Jamz (Audio CD)
I ordered this because Amazon listed 18 songs from the 90's that I truly enjoyed.......however the CD only has 15 of those songs. Further when the Windows Media Player reads the disc, the title that appears on the screen is not always what is actually playing and some of the songs that are read when using Window Media Player aren't even on the Disc. Razor and Tie Direct did not do a good job compiling this CD

I really wanted to check out this CD when I first saw it advertised on TV. This disc includes such No. 1 hits as Adina Howard's "Freak Like Me", Next "Too Close, and Xscape's "Just Kickin' It". The album brings back a lot of memories. Some songs first came out when I was eight years old! So if you want to buy a CD that brings back memories, buy MONSTA JAMZ!
