Product Description

Monster Cable•it Cable Management Kit - 8 ft. Medium Black Cable•it

From the Manufacturer

Cables have a tendency to look cluttered, and the more complicated your setup – in home theaters, home offices, project studios, and more – the messier they seem. Monster® Cable•It provides an amazingly simple way to tidy up any cable mess, whether your setting up a new HDTV or setting up on stage for a gig. Available in three sizes for both small jobs and big projects, with as many as 12 cables and cords, Cable•It can make all your spaces cleaner and more organized.

Easy to Use

Prep: Gather up your cables. Be careful not to insert too many cables. (Note: For the best AV performance, use a separate Cable•It for power cords and AV cables.)

Step 1: Snap open the Monster Zipper and insert your cables, as shown. Close the Zipper around the cables.

Step 2: Slide the Cable•It sleeve onto the Zipper’s pointed tip with the sleeve openings pointing downward. Grip the sleeve around the cables.

Step 3: Holding the Zipper handgrip, pull the Zipper backward or the sleeve forward away from the Zipper. Unsnap the Zipper from the end of the sleeve. You’re done! It’s that easy.

Customer Reviews

The color wasn't exactly white, however, it is a great product and very easy to use.

This cable management system is pretty good, especially if you only need to bind a series of similar length cables (for example a bundle of cables running from a TV to an AV receiver). It's easy to install using the provided tool. I thought it wouldn't work for binding up multiple power cables because their heads were too large to fit through the adapter tool, but then I realized that it splits open down the middle so you you can easily start at any location on the cables. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are running multiple cables that are going different distances, the best way to do this is to just run the cables the entire length and then when you are done pull out the cable(s) that need to go shorter distances. I found it relatively easy to bind up several runs of cables from my AV-receiver to my speakers and television. Now I don't have an octopus of wires under my AV rack which makes me happy and my wife happy too.

I originally purchased this product a couple of years ago. The initial Monster CIT cable management product was flexible, and extremely durable. An unbelievable product. With the newer version of this product, they have compromised its durability and strength with considerably thinner plastic. Mind you, it is still the same price. It twists on itself. The cables come out of it because it is too weak. Way to ruin a great product being greedy Monster Cable. Monster CIT MBK-50 Medium Diameter Black Cable-It Wire Management System (50 feet)

I looked in the description for how many cords this would hold and couldn't find it so I bought a Medium. It is 1.2 inches in diameter and the box says it will hold 5-8 cables, which is about right. We used it for four TV cords, a dvd player, antenna box, and clock (seven cords total). We were even able to double back a few of them to keep the total length shorter. It's not the loveliest looking thing, but it's better than a cord octopus. It was easy to use--the zipper handle is smart. Watch the video in the pictures for installation details.

This is not what you need if you are running cords up a wall, across a floor, or behind molding, however. It is designed for loose cables that are running from an electronic device to an outlet (behind a desk or entertainment center, for example). The directions also recommend using separate ones for AV cables and power cords, for what it's worth.

My wife's office was a mess of wires - laptop, monitor, laser printer, plotter, networking, router, phone - sooooo many cables. I had to disconnect everything to get it organized, but once I laid out the cords, the cable-it system was easy to install. It has a neet little device to thread the cords in the cable-it wrapper.

I highly recommend, but plan 30-60 minutes to plan out your cable setup.

This product was exactly what I wanted. It did an excellent job hiding the cable, dvr, etc wires. The color wasn't exactly white, however, it is a great product and very easy to use.

I could see how these would be good for a VERY SIMPLE setup requiring maybe 8ft or less of cable management, but for something that is anywhere near what a modern media center setup is (with several peripherals that each have their own power brick) it is extremely cumbersome and frustrating to manage the wires with this setup. The handle zipper thing is also pretty cheap and broke apart several times. It does not stay shut during threading of 5 or more cables.

Also, the claim of easily inserting a cable without the zipper at any point in the line is not true.

The cord holder did a great job of cleaning up the cables. The insertion tool worked, but did not place the "retainers" on in the same orientation for the entire length of the cable run. I needed to use my fingers to reorient the retaining tabs so they looked uniform. Not a big deal, but extra work. My biggest issue is that I purchased a white holder thinking it would blend into my light colored walls. The holder received was not white, it was beige. I installed it anyway, however the black computer cables stand out through the gaps in the holder. If I was to do this again, I would have purchased black. It would stand out more, but it would look neat. It looks like a black and beige candy cane now. Not the most appealing treat.

The cable was very easy to install, and I love the feature that lets you pull cords out at different angles.I am planning buying more in different sizes
