Product Description

From the Manufacturer

For Maximum Performance and Convenience, You Need an Advanced, Longer-Length Digital Back Connection
You’ve invested a lot in your digital back to instantly capture, view and edit images of the highest quality. Whether you’re working in the studio or on location, shooting product for catalogs or a billboard, you need a FireWire cable with enough length to accommodate the connection between your digital back and your computer. You need the advanced technology, solid construction and 20-foot (6.09m) length of a Monster Cable Digital Back to Computer Cable.

The FireWire Cable that Comes with Your Digital Back May Not Be Long Enough for Your Shoots
Even if your digital camera back already came with a FireWire cable in the box, it might be too short to accommodate. A short cable run doesn’t allow much movement or maneuverability with your camera tethered to your computer. Or it might not provide a wide enough angle between the two. But Monster Digital Back to Computer is 20 feet long (6.09m), providing more than enough slack to make every setup and shoot as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Monster Delivers Fast, Accurate, Reliable Data Transfer for High Resolution Images
With the connection between your digital back and computer being required to transfer such large amounts of high-resolution image data, it’s crucial that it delivers that data over the long length of the cable with optimum speed, accuracy and reliability. The Monster’s advanced technology including 24k gold contact connectors and an extra-large cable gauge maximizes your equipment performance. For the long length and advanced technology you need on your shoots, get a Monster Digital Back to Computer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well made cable, but seems to affect other firewire devices, August 6, 2007

This review is from: Monster Cable Digital Back to Computer Cable : IEEE 1394 6-to-6 Pin, 20ft. 20 ft. Digital Back to PC FireWire 6-to-6 Pin (J2 DBPC6/6-20) (Personal Computers)
Bought this firewire cable to connect my Mac to an M-Audio interface box across the room by the audio gear and it works flawlessly. Extremely well made cable, but seems to affect other firewire devices... for example an external hard drive set to auto-shutdown on a separate firewire bus on the same computer now stays on even when I shutdown. If I disconnect the Monster Cable from the computer the hard drive will shut down properly at the same time as the computer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Firewire cable works, November 24, 2009

This review is from: Monster Cable Digital Back to Computer Cable : IEEE 1394 6-to-6 Pin, 20ft. 20 ft. Digital Back to PC FireWire 6-to-6 Pin (J2 DBPC6/6-20) (Personal Computers)
I needed a long reliable cable to send a DV video signal from my video camera to a DVD recorder and it worked just fine. The cable is a little stiff, probably due to what may be a metal foil type shielding. It is not flexible like a cable with a braided wire shielding. There is probably a good reason why Monster made the cable the way they did, so maybe I should be giving it a 5 star rating. In a studio type setup where your camera is stationary the cable performs perfectly and the cable stiffness does not matter. If, however, you need some freedom to move around, you might want to try a couple of 15 foot braided shielding type cables with a firewire hub in between. You may also find that the stiffness in the Monster cable does not bother you. Whatever you decide, be sure to test your particular setup or intended use before using it on a paying job. Also be aware that communications between devices through a hub can be tricky, so test, test and test some more. Even hub manufactures make no guarantees in certain setups.
