BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! FAKE CABLE!!!,
This review is from: Monster Cable M2000HD M Series M2000 HDMI 2000 M - 8ft (Electronics)
Buyer Beware! These are FAKE Monster Cables!!!! You can trace back these sellers to Chinese duplication companies. A red flag should have appeared when you realized you were purchasing a cable with a retail price of $300, for $20. The M series cables are the most popular faked cables. The Real M series monster cable probably has more than $20 worth of gold built into it, much less the cost of building the rest of the cable (which in truth is probably only around $100 and its marked up to $300)THESE ARE CHINESE FAKES!!!!! (the trend started on ebay and has now hit amazon). They even come in a cardboard box with no monster lifetime warranty! Red flag anyone? BUT! with all this said, these ARE Functional. They are just standard HDMI cables dressed to match the M series body (and the picture posted is taken straight from monster's site). So buyers be careful. Research what you are buying. But by all means, if you are just hunting a gold plated hdmi cable and you want it to look amazing, get this product. Remember kids, you get what you pay for!

M2000HD, 8ft, at $20? this is a definite fake product. I don't know why Amazon allows selling unauthorized imitation product like this. The dealers' wholesale cost for this item is much higher than $20, let alone being able to sell them at $20.

As with so many of these types of "High End Products", Apple and Monster to name but 2, the "originals" that you pay $300+ for are, and now wait for it, made in China.... iPhone, iPad ect; designed in California, made in China. They may not be licences, they definitely don't have any warranty or anything like that. Yes, I'll even concede that they wouldn't have the quality control and testing their over priced brothers claim to so there may be a defective one or 2 in the bunch but, and here's the only part that matters in my opinion, when your talking about saving $250 a cable and they are from the same factories, run by the same people, using the same machines/materials and made by the same workers I'm going to take my chances... and I did. From another online store, a Chinese one in fact, that I have found some good little finds from before. I got 3 actually. I went, with two of my new cables purchased for the princely sum of $15 apiece (free shipping) under arm, down to my mates shop and compared this cable to the ones he had.... Even he admitted, after a few switches between cables, he couldn't tell the difference from the way it looked/felt ect. Off we go to test it, on the biggest 3D TV I have ever seen, piping the 7.1 channel bit-stream into a ear bleeder of a sound system up from a top end blue ray player, against the most expensive cables he had instore.. they all performed beautifully and we couldn't tell the difference between most of them, in fact with one cable he sells (that i won't name as he claims it must be a 1 in a million faulty cable... yeah right) for well over $300 retail, the cheap Chinese monster out performed it. By miles too. Picture was crisper, everything synced quicker, it was incredible... and the sound, un-frikin-believable!! like everything acting as one unit. TV, blue ray and sound system.. (side note here, wasn't a good idea doing this.. saved a couple hundy on some cables and then killed the budget on a new 3D tv, sound system and blue ray player o_0)The fact is that it would be super easy, given the right circumstances, to siphon off say 1 box in a 100 or something and on sell them on the black market... Is it right, no probably not. Am I missing out, HELL NO!! Not to mention they could be from a wholesaler or manufacturing plant who went bankrupt and this is the result of a creditors auction.. or whatever, really use your imagination here, there are many perfectly reasonable explanations for them being the price and and being only 1 length ect. Personally I am very happy with both my new system and cables. I would simply never spend the money that Monster and others cost. Plain and simple.. the cost/benefit ratio just isn't there for me. I'll ask you this though; At this price, considering the real deal are made in china too, why not just have a look see? Worst thing is you complain to Amazon and all is fixed for you.. I love buying online especially from a place like Amazon that gives you some consumer rights even though you are saving stupid cash monies.. Peace out Players.
