This product (Monster Cable Outlets To Go MP OTG300 USB) was a life-saver during my recent business trip to Europe. In several occasions, there was only one AC outlet available but we need to power two laptops. The built-in USB port was also handy for recharging my tablet and cell phone.
One important feature of this power strip is that: you can plug it into either 110V or 220V AC, and the USB port will work equally well. Strangely enough, this feature is not even advertised on Amazon product page. Although to be clear, this power strip does NOT do voltage conversion for its AC outlets, so whatever you plug into it better be rated for the input voltage. Fortunately, most portable electronics (such as chargers for laptops, tablets or cameras) are already compatible with universal AC voltage of 100-240V.
Another important spec that is missing from Amazon product description: the USB port's output current rating. On the package I received it says '1500mA', but on the power strip itself it says '1000mA'. Based on my own measurement with the VIZIO VTAB1008 tablet as load, this USB port is actually capable of supplying a maximum current of about 1600mA. This should be sufficient for recharging most portable electronics. One exception is that an iPad3 requires up to 2.3A. So if you try to recharge it through this USB port, your iPad may say "Not charging" even though it is still being charged at a slower rate.
I use this when traveling for work or fun. Most hotels do not have enough outlets at the computer desk. I liked it so much I purchased a second one for my desk at work so that all of my portable devices can plug into it just behind my computer monitors.
