The Monster iAirPlay portable power adapter prevents this scenario by keeping you powered up for the entire trip. Simply connect the iAirPlay to your iPod's dock connector and then plug the adapter into the seat's 15-volt armrest power outlet (found on many commercial airlines). Your iPod will be juiced for the remainder of the trip and beyond so you can enjoy quality tunes while forgetting about the length of your flight. The device also includes a second adapter for 15-volt DC cigarette lighter outlets when the traditional airline outlets aren't available. While this product will work with your older Ipods it will not work with any iphone model and will not charge them.

I used this charger on planes for my IPOD 2G. However, when I purchased my IPOD 3G, it was no longer compatible. It's also not compatible with the IPOD TOUCH or any IPHONES, or the IPAD. Where do they tell you this? They don't. I don't know why they haven't upgraded the monster cable iplay for use with the newer products.

This cable is awesome!!! This is a "must have" for anyone on a long flight. I was on a 17 hour flight and this cable charged my ipod the entire time. It worked perfectly. The cable plugged in right under my seat and was long enough for me to place the ipod on my food tray. Keep in mind that the pilot only turns on the power to the plugs under the seats after achieving the cruising altitude.
