5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the diaper bag!, October 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Monster Faces (Sesame Street) (A Chunky Book(R)) (Board book)
My one year old loves this book! I don't believe that Amazon's age group is right; this book is perfect for babies. Very colorful, lots of pages, and small enough for little hands to hold.

5.0 out of 5 stars Infant to toddler a great way to teach feelings., September 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Monster Faces (Sesame Street) (A Chunky Book(R)) (Board book)
I purchased this book when my son was only 3 months old. We have spent many hours looking and talking about the different feeling and expressions the Sesame Characters are showing. My son is now 16 months and calls for his "Faces" book by name. He loves to imitate the looks he sees on the bright colorful pages. I would reccomend this book to everyone with a small child.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of our very favorites, May 27, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Monster Faces (Sesame Street) (A Chunky Book(R)) (Board book)
Our 2 two year olds love Monster Faces. The wonderful part of this little book is the way it promotes interaction and playfulness between reader and child! Our son & daughter get so excited when I start reading the book -- they dance around and giggle. We have a ball making our own faces along with the friendly monsters in the book. Some of the muppet monster faces are "shy face", "happy face", "silly face", "scary face", "grumpy face", "surprise face", "silly face", ending with "my face". What a great book!! I highly recommend it. Get ready to jump in and be silly!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Book, but smaller than I expected, March 29, 2011

This review is from: Monster Faces (Sesame Street) (A Chunky Book(R)) (Board book)
This book is really cute and well done. It is a board book so it is more durable than a normal paperback. I did expect it to be a normal size book, but when I opened the box it was a mini-book (about the size of my palm). I'm sure if I had read the description in more detail, I would have noticed.

My daughter who is 19 months, loves the book and all of the Sesame characters. Our 6 year old loves to read it to her which is great bonding for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars even better than expected, May 21, 2010

This review is from: Monster Faces (Sesame Street) (A Chunky Book(R)) (Board book)
My 21-month twins love Elmo and the other Sesame Street characters, so I bought this little book based on the good reviews. They love it and I'm impressed - there's 16 different monster "expressions" (from "worried face" to "proud face" to "sour face" to "sleepy face") and the book itself is just the right size for toddler hands. Simple and perfect.

I am a speech therapist and I use this book with babies age 18 mos - 2.5 years. It has been wonderful, much better than I expected when I first saw it. I think the kids like the small size of the book. The faces lend themselves to age-appropriate vocabulary. I was afraid that a book about "emotions" would be too advanced for my lang delayed kiddos but there are a lot of pictures they can relate to even if they don't know the word for the related emotion just yet. They enjoy imitating some of the monsters or making brief comments about what they see, which is what I want them to do. Great book for my purposes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun faces!, December 15, 2007

At first I was disappointed that this book was a small board book, but my kids liked it so much I got over that quickly. It was in my almost 2 yr old daughters stocking Christmas morning and she kept opening it and laughing, even slapping the floor! Teaches emotions and expressions too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, poor binding, August 13, 2006
This review is from: Monster Faces (Sesame Street) (A Chunky Book(R)) (Board book)
This is my 16-month old son's second favorite book (the first is Ten Little Ladybugs). He loves the book, can hold it himself, and often sits and "reads" it alone, too. However, in reading alone, has grabbed the pages from the binding side and easily tore the book in half. I glued it back, and it seems to hold for now.
