3.0 out of 5 stars Good Component Cable with some problems
First of all I would like to point out that this cable does add to picture clarity as well as bring out brighter colors. From a video stand point I would recommend this cable. However, the biggest disappointment with this cable is the lack of a fiber optical output out of the box. I would think that any monster cable would come with this standard! Even cheaper...

This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
reference: 34in hdtv sony wega xbr960

after installation and several hours of continuous use, my friends and i have all agreed on the following two statements...

1) the monster gamelink av cable provided sharper images, more detailed environments and overall better color accuracy on my 360 games compared to the microsoft component cable that came free with the xbox 360 premium version.

2)monster gamelink av cable is rather expensive ($60 us )

analysis: if you want the best av cables currently available for your xbox 360, the monster gamelink is hands down the winner in this category...with future games such as halo 3 & gears of war, having a great set of av cables is highly recommended to fully showcase the potential graphics/sound that the xbox 360 is capable of producing...i would have given this product 5 stars, however i believe the price is just a little too high for the average consumer... in conclusion,$60 in my personal opinion is a great long term investment which will provide many years of having the best possible picture on your xbox console.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great option for Microsoft brand, March 1, 2006

This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
The HDTV cable that comes with the Xbox 360 has a bad connection in the optical audio connector. The Monsater brand did not have this problem and the audio quality is great - no more static. The video quality is to be expected from Monster - A++.

A must buy and trash the OEM cable...

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge Quality Improvement over original cables, November 10, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
After doing much research online, I decided to purchase these Monster Component Cables for my Xbox 360. I currently have a 32" Samsung LCD HDTV (LN-S3251D) and I had been using the component cables that came with the Xbox 360 for about 4 months. The reviews I read regarding these Monster cables were absolutely correct: these new cables truly provide a sharper HD picture. Colors and textures in games are much brighter and are clearer than ever.

I also use my Xbox 360 as a DVD/HD-DVD player. With the original Microsoft component cables, my DVD movies appeared grainy and washed-out. It was such an awful picture that I would be forced to watch DVDs on my other HDTV with a standalone DVD player. With the addition of these new cables, DVD and HD-DVD movies appear almost life-life on my Xbox 360. For anyone who has purchased (or is planning to purchase) the HD-DVD player add-on, I would highly recommend these Monster cables.

The audio through my HDTV's stereo speakers also seems clearer with less distortion and hollowness.

Overall, these Monster cables would make a great addition to EVERY Xbox 360 user with an HDTV. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars You really can't go wrong for the price, December 15, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
I am typically very wary of the Monster cable brand. i never really saw the need to pay 2x or 3x the price of standard cables just because the name brand. However after finally upgrading to a new HD plasma TV i wanted to be sure I had the proper HD cables and audio options to hook up my older model Xbox 360.

These cables def seem very strong and have amazing and secure connectors. i personally have not experienced any issues with the connectors getting stuck in the input jacks as stated in previous reviews. The picture quality is definitely amazing. I did not have the standard Microsoft brand HD cables so cant really say how they compare first hand, but seeing as Amazon is selling these for less than the the full price as the standard ones, I don't see why you would not just go for these.

For those considering these component cables, please keep in mind that the best quality you can get out of these is dependent on your TV as not all TVs can receive 1080p signals via component cables. If you want to get 1080p out of your Xbox360 your best bet is to always go with HDMI if your system has that option. (mine does not)

Another thing you may want to keep in mind is that this cable only comes with stereo (left and right) sound jacks. If you wish to take advantage of surround sound using a toslink optical audio cable you need to purchase the monster branded audio cable separately: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Fiber Optic Cable This cable comes with the attachment needed that connects to this. (there is a jack on the side that you can't really see in the picture provided.) If you get both of these cables on Amazon the price still comes out cheaper than getting the monster a/v component combo kit that can also be found on Amazon at pretty much full price.

In the end this is definitely a must buy for the $15 price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great HD Component for new and old 360's, November 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
I've only had this product for a short while, but I am very pleased with it! The cable itself is very well built - it is very well shielded and is 10ft long, which is more than enough to reach behind a TV. As other reviews have stated, this version won't do optical audio without an adapter - so keep that in mind if you don't have one of the new Xbox 360's that have a seperate optical audio out.

Speaking of the new Xbox 360 slims, this cable fits them perfectly and does not block any of the ports on the back. I was worried as the end is fairly wide, but it was no problem at all.

The cables split into their individual connector's about 6 inches from the end of the cable and cannot be adjusted, which will cause problems if you have more than a couple of inches between the component and audio sections of your TV. This was not an issue for me, as I used optical audio from the Xbox unit. Also take note that the connector's are VERY snug - I practically had to screw them on by twisting and pushing. Just be careful when you are plugging them in.

The visual quality itself is outstanding. I've used the original Xbox 360 OEM component cable since 2006. There isn't a huge difference, but I do notice that colors are slightly more vivid. And for $25 cheaper than the OEM cables retail, it was a very easy decision!

All in all, this is an awesome quality product for a great price. If you recently purchased the Xbox 360 slim and were disappointed that it only came with composite cables, then look no further. These Monster Gamelink Component Cables provide great value and quality!

5.0 out of 5 stars exceeded expectations, April 23, 2008

This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
I was a little skeptical about this cable and monster in general. but the cable that microsoft gives you does component or composite which kind of bugged me. this cable is definitely higher quality. the difference in picture quality is noticeable right away. with the first party cable text was a bit blurry, with the monster cable the text looks like it should. you can read a review at team xbox, I would agree with what they said about it. however, I would not pay 50 dollars for this cable. look around and find a good price. I got mine for 20. if you're going to use component I would recommend this cable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ulitmate Experience, April 18, 2007
This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
I purchased these cables a few months back, and I love them extremley well built and very thick which is a good thing. I play Xbox 360 on a 63" Samsung Plasma top of the line. When I connected it a put in Gears of War, I was blown away by the depth and color detail I seen compared to Microsofts flimsy component cable. Can't wait to the Xbox 360 Elite system coming April 2007 it has HDMI and I know I am buying from Monster!

This is a far leap from what came with the Xbox 360, i have always used monster cables products for all my cabling needs. however, i heisated to purchase this because of the cost; but i am glad that i did. The cables are perfect on on my 1080P tv now that microsoft has updated so it is able to put out FULL HD it is sweet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Monster Xbox 360 Component Cable, July 6, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Component Video A/V Cable (Electronics)
The Monster Cables are better than the standard Microsoft Cables, if you want to see more realistic colors and sharper video then you should buy these cables, but I should note that any component cables will not be as good as a digital cable because component cables are analog. But for now there are no Digital cables for the Xbox 360. So this is the best one, unless they make a HDMI or DVI cable for the Xbox 360. If they do then my guess is it won't be for sale until 2007. So, if you can't wait 'till then, then buy the component cables now and enjoy them until the Digital cables come out, then buy the digital cables.
