Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Computing on the go is hard enough without having to fight with your telephone modem connection: Tangled wires, broken tabs on that little RJ-11 telephone connector, not to mention trying to dig out that connector from a hotel telephone while you're trying get to your first meeting or catch your flight.

Introducing Monster Internet, the cable that makes Internet travel a whole lot easier. Our award winning Internet phone cable is flexible and easy to travel with. It's made with Monster Cable's DuraFlex jacket which is not only durable but very flexible so you can quickly coil and pack your Monster Internet cable in your laptop case. It has an extended tab so you won't have to fight with it when you want to disconnect. The Tab is heavy duty and there's a nifty cover over it so it won't accidentally snag and break.

At Monster, our traveling sales people prefer an extra-short 5 foot black Monster Internet for plugging into airport or hotel phones with dataports. Less cable means it quicker to plug in and quicker to go. They also pack in their luggage an extra-long 25 foot yellow Monster Internet so when they get to their hotel rooms they can work where they want to, not where the phone jack is. The yellow keeps them from tripping over the cable and damaging their laptops. Sorry, no glow-in-dark, yet.

Monster Internet does come in 5, 10, 25 foot lengths and in 5 different Monsterous colors: Corporate BLUE, Sophisticated BLACK, Dare-to-be-different YELLOW, Passionate RED, Resistant-to-change WHITE.

Some may say a cable is just a cable. If you're a traveling laptop power user, we know everything you carry is carefully chosen whether it's the laptop or the bag it goes in. We're confident you'll appreciate the thought and effort we Monsters have put in to designing the ultimate travel internet phone cable, Monster Internet.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better quality but not necessary. Nice colors though, January 11, 2002

This review is from: Monster JI PJMO HPR-5 Ultra-High Speed Internet Phone Cable Using RJ11 Connection (5 ft.) (Personal Computers)
This particular cable is better than the standard stuff, in the sense that if you've got a long distance you need to pull the line then you will not suffer as much signal attenuation (loss) as with the regular lines you'd probably get with your analong modem or dsl modem. However, the quality of line to your house from your isp's switch center is also very important and will limit the speed in which you realistically connect at. With that in mind, if you're pulling line long distances you should probably consider these cables otherwise if it's something along the lines of 5 or 10 feet, it's not much of an issue unless you like the colors like I do hence the 3 stars.

I was hoping that these cables would help me keep at least a 28.8k conection but it does not and I still get bumped off the net. I would have to say from my experance and what I have read that your connection speed depends a lot on how good the phone co. wires are and how far you are from the phone co.

1.0 out of 5 stars This thing stinks, December 16, 1999

Too bad this product does nothing for you considering that it is usually the phone system in your commuinity that will determine what your connection rate will be. This little device will do you no good what so ever once it hits the phone line INSIDE your house in the walls. Want more info go to your ISP.
