I am an adult doll collector, and I LOVE the Monster high dolls. They are adorable and strange, and very poseable. Yes, they do come apart (some articulated dolls do...I've got several 27cm obitsu dolls as well that do the same thing, albeit with 'tighter' joints). I think that they were probably aiming for an older audience (preteen maybe?) with these toys. The joints could be a little less loose, and they definitely need to put out a Ghoulia doll (maybe more clothes as well for the characters). But all in all, I think the dolls are wonderful, and quite appropriate for girls who play carefully instead of dragging the poor toy around by the hair or a limb through the dirt. Like with all things, one really needs to use common sense when purchasing toys for younger children. If it has small parts, probably not for them.

I have to admit, my daughter and I were a little concerned when we saw the reviews of this doll. We weren't sure whether to order it or not. In the end, my daughter decided to take the risk with her birthday money. As it turns out, there's really nothing wrong with the product, in terms of quality. The legs and arms are made to come off, making clothing changes easier.

These dolls are the cutest dolls ever - but I have had 2 dolls fall completely apart within an hour of being out of their box. Now, I understand that the arms are meant to disconnect and we have had no problems with that at all. The problem we have had is that the legs of the dolls are held together with a gold elastic band between the body. This elastic, if not assembled properly, becomes pinched in the plastic of the doll and movement of the dolls legs breaks the elastic piece by piece until the dolls legs fall completely off and there is no fix for this! It does not matter how gentle you are with the doll - if the elastic was pinched in the plastic when it was made then the doll WILL break. I have called Mattel twice about this problem and recommend any other mother who has had a problem with these dolls legs breaking off to call them as well. My girls are older and within the recommended age limits for this set of dolls. The issue is a manufacturing error and Mattel needs to redesign. An elastic piece holding a dolls legs together is poor and cheap design and needs to go back to the drawing board.

HI, I JUST HAD TO MENTION TO ALL THOSE REVIEWERS WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT HAND AND ARMS FALLING OFF THESE DOLLS, IF YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS, THEY ARE MADE TO DO THAT. YES, HELLO, IT HELPS OLDER CHILDREN, AND ME THE PARENT IN CHANGING THE SKIN TIGHT CLOTHING ON THE DOLLS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER SEEN DOLLS COME APART FOR CLOTHING, AND NO THEY DO NOT JUST FALL OFF UNLESS PULLED OFF, AND THEY CLICK RIGHT BACK INTO PLACE. MY 7 YEAR OLD LOVES THESE DOLLS, BUT SHE UNDERSTANDS THE CONCEPT OF REMOVING LIMBS TO CHANGE FASHIONS. I HAVE TO HELP MY 5 YEAR OLD CHANGE THEM, BUT OTHERWISE A PIECE OF CAKE... I CERTAINLY LOVE THEM TOO FOR THAT. EVER TRY CHANGING A DISNEY PRINCESS DOLL WITH THE FINGERS SPREAD APART AND SKIN TIGHT CLOTHING ON THE ARMS, ALWAYS THE SLEAVES GET RIPPED TO SHREDS WHEN CHANGING. THESE ARE GREAT, SO GLAD MATTEL CAME UP WITH THIS CONCEPT FINALLY, AND YES, THE BOX STATES IT IS FOR 6 YEARS AND OLDER FOR A REASON.

My girls love these dolls and enjoy watching the videos on the website. They are the most played with "barbies" in their collection. They love the story that these dolls are different at high school, yet find ways to fit in. Way to go mattel!

I love the Monster High dolls and these poor ratings are completely inaccurate! Just by looking at their clothes, the webisodes, or even the books, these dolls were meant for older kids. I collect them and my 9 year old sister buys her to play with. She's 9. She's not prone to losing small parts (and yes, these dolls all come with small parts) and she's old enough to understand that a delicate doll should not be placed in young hands. These dolls are more fragile because they come with more detail than a durable Barbie and they are meant for a more mature audience. I love all my Monster High dolls and not a single one has broken, and that included the ones played with by my sister. So although defective dolls are out there, maybe more of the blame should be cast on the hands that play with them.

Please, my fellow Monster High collecting friends and fans, DO NOT let these high-pricing third party sellers fool you - this doll is NO LONGER RARE. And as soon as the cases of the re-release wave 1 dolls hit store shelves, she WON'T be HTF, either! I bought this same doll at Wally World's website, for RETAIL ($19.97!). I didn't even have to pay for shipping, since I did site to store. I had her within four days of buying! I'd imagine, eventually, Amazon themselves will have the doll for retail, too, if you don't want to order from WW.

To the actual doll! This version varies from the original mostly in her outward packaging. She has the new box instead of the old version. Even though I'm a MIB collector, I don't care if her box isn't the old one. I'm just grateful to have this doll at retail! I've been watching sales for over a year now, hoping to get one at a decent price for an out of production doll. The cheapest I ever saw it was $87. So glad I didn't have the money to spend then, or else I'd be kicking myself now! I assume this one doesn't have the leg snapping issues, either, but not something I need to concern myself with.

She has the same outfit as the original release doll - from the cute mini-skirt, to the shiny pink & black zebra print shirt, the awesome multi-strapped boots, the sparkling pink thigh highs, that sassy fur trimmed jacket and cute zippered and strapped purse! Yes, her pet kitten, Cresent, is included. As well as Clawdeen's personal diary! She comes with a medium brown colored stand and brush, too. Her hair is fierce and her face-up is perfect. I almost cried when they opened the box at the service counter, to verify the order, and she was without FLAW. A year's search has ended ...
