My 7 year old daughter likes it, mainly because it is Monster High. There are a few good things about this game such as the controls being very straightforward and the speed is not too fast so younger kids don't get frustrated. But there are a number of drawbacks. There are only four tracks, and you don't get to pick which to race on except in the "timed" mode where you just try to beat your previous times. If you chose "race" or "relay" mode, you race all four tracks in the same order each time. And there is not a lot of variety between the tracks, mainly just a change of scenery. You do get to unlock more characters as you win races and each character has a different special ability so that does offer some variety I guess. But the special abilities fall into one of three categories: a speed boost, something to knock your opponent down or a temporary invincibility.

The mulch-player is also poorly designed. You can not race against each other, only play on the same team. I do like that it promotes teamwork, but the actual play time is severely skewed towards player one. In relay mode, each player takes a lap around the track, but there are three laps, so player one gets to do the first and last lap while player two only gets to do the second lap. And player one starts first on all four tracks rather than it alternating who starts first.

All in all, it is keeping my kid entertained but probably not for long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skultimate Roller Maze ROCKS! December 28, 2012
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My 9 year old has gone Monster High Crazy, so when she asked for this game, I was not surprised. My mother in law bought it for her. She was VERY excited to get it. When she finally got to playing it after spending an entire day on her new guitar, she was a little confused because the packaging says to use the nunchuck with the wiimote, but after a little trial and error, we learned that she could use the wheel she uses for mariokart and it works very well! She's been playing it for HOURS now! I would totally recommend any goth crazy girls to get this game! Such fun!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game for young girls October 2, 2013

This game is perfect for my 8 year old daughter. She loves the array of characters you can use and the interface is fairly simple to navigate so my 6 year old step-daughter enjoys playing with it too. Their favorite Monster High characters come to life, they talk as they skate through mazes that gradually increase in difficulty with each level.

I am glad to have purchased this fun game both of my girls can enjoy together.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun July 11, 2013

My girls liked it and that's what matters. I would compare it to a race car game but in rollerskates. The girls can pick their character and try to win the match. I played with them a couple of times I thought it was pretty neat. Not the most incredible game out there but neither are any of the race car games. You race, that's it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun but uni-dimensional January 19, 2013

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
We love the Monster High brand at our house and my daughter, nine, devours everything Monster High she can get her hands on. While this game is fun, there's nothing more to it, that I can see, other than skating around. Skate in the city, skate at the beach, skate at night, skate in the daytime; skating in one direction, trying to skate faster than other characters, avoid an occasional obstacle, skate into a few point-getting objects. No variety at all. I don't see this game being on top of the Wii game stack but for a couple of weeks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game! November 1, 2013

My daughter is 5, and learning to play the Wii. This game is a great joy in her life, and she begs to earn time to play it, if that says anything for you.

In this game, you are one of the characters, you must unlock them, as with most games where you are able to choose characters. However many players are playing are working together as a TEAM. So what happens is one player starts with the skating and when their character is getting tired (marked by a health bar on the screen), they have to press a button to send down the line. So the players must be able to communicate to one another to say "Hey ___________ I'm sending to you!". We have a serious gamer in the household who is even enjoying this game and working to help unlock the characters for the little one.

Playing as your favorite character is just one of the perks. These girls have "super powers" so to speak, where they can do the special things, like Clawdeen's "Beast Mode" which makes her go faster for a short time to gain lead.

The gamer of the home says that the graphics are not super advanced, think lower budget slightly cheesy. The levels have to be done in single player to unlock, while on the hardest difficulty-so definitely not the littlest kid's job!

2.0 out of 5 stars Returning it ... December 28, 2012
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
My daughter wanted a Monster High game for the Wii. I found this at a decent price so I purchased it. Now I wish I hadn't. She played it for half an hour and wants me to return it to get something else.

The only thing you can do is roller skate. Sure, that's the premise of the game but you literally can't do anything else. Not many tracks ... You can't choose the tracks you skate on ... You can't choose anything other than who you use to skate with. More monsters are added after more races are won but goodness. My child is bored and doesn't want it anymore. She also says they don't skate fast enough.

I, personally, was hoping it was a little like Sonic Racing All Stars (since most of the racing games for kids pretty much work the same way) but this is not nearly as developed as that. What a waste.
