I like the little details on this doll, her eyes are different colors (green and blue), she has many stitches, and her face is painted really nicely. Frankie has white and black hair and her skin is a pale green color, much like you would expect for a daughter of Frankenstein's Monster. This series of Monster High dolls seems to be a real basic edition where they are dressed for a slumber party, so they don't have a lot of fancy adornments or a bunch of accessories. I don't know what you would expect for 11-12 dollars. I think these dolls are really cute and after receiving this as my first in the Monster High series, I am definitely going to buy more.
Earlier in the line, dolls had limb problems. They have jointed elbows and knees that pull out (for changing outfits). I haven't had any problems with limbs falling out unintentionally in'Dead Tired', 'Schools Out', or the 'Classroom' assortment, so I think Mattel has figured out a better way to make the joints a little more sturdy. I wouldn't give this doll to a child who likes to bite, gnaw, and/or torture the doll, but anyone who is kind to their dolls should be fine with this Frankie.
I LOVE Frankie's hair, not only is it easier to brush than most of the other Monster High dolls, the white strands somehow reflect a violet color so when put against a black backdrop or are getting brushed against a doth cloth like denim pants her hair shimmers purple. Pretty sweet.
The lighter make-up on this doll is a very nice change, most of these dolls look *too* made-up, and border on freakish. The rubber elastic connecting the legs to the hip has been replaced with a much more durable fabric elastic, and the joints on this doll are neither too tight, nor too loose (for easy removal and attachment of limbs).
On the DOWNSIDE, this doll DOES NOT HAVE EARRING HOLES. NONE of the dead-tired dolls have earring holes.
I got an extra set of clothes for her and our Gloom Beach Draculaura, but Frankie just can't wear the earrings. I haven't dared to try a drill to put a hole in her ear, but the earrings are certainly lacking.
As with all monster high dolls, she needs to be supported at several places to keep her upright while playing since her torso tends to bend at awkward angles while 'walking'.
NEVERTHELESS, if NOT for the lack of earring holes, I would get ALL of the dead-tired dolls due to the ease-of-use outfits, tasteful make-up, and updated articulation. It would be awesome if they made a dead-tired Abbey/Spectra/Toralei!

Nice doll with nice outfit and good quality, but money wasn't worth it. I took about 20 days to come home and it was a really long and boring wait.Published 9 months ago by Feng Zhang
