4.0 out of 5 stars The coolest THQ game ever!
This game is really fun! You play as DJ, Chowder, and Jenny. You go through the house shooting living chairs, lamps, TVs, and other stuff, with a water gun. You get to use secondary weapons like a camera, which stuns enemies, a slingshot, and water balloons. The view's annoying, but you'll get used to it. Plus, you walk really slow. But overall, it rocks! PLAY THIS...

2.0 out of 5 stars The real monster is how bad this game is!
There's no denying that Monster House for the PlayStation 2 and the GameCube does a good job of duplicating the atmosphere of the movie it's based on. Every key scene from the movie is represented in some fashion, and the game's spooky musical score is on par with Hollywood's best. There's no denying that Monster House for the PlayStation 2 and the GameCube does a good job of duplicating the atmosphere of the movie it's based on. Every key scene from the movie is represented in some fashion, and the game's spooky musical score is on par with Hollywood's best. Unfortunately, while the game is a joy to sit back and take in, it isn't much fun to interact with. The movie has been transformed into a third-person action game that mainly involves fighting the same cookie-cutter enemies over and over again in the same cramped environments. To make matters worse, various other dubious design decisions bring about fits of frustration along the way that really shouldn't be in a game that only takes about four hours to complete.

I highly recommend this game for anyone who loves the movie. My son is 5 and is able to play this game with little or no help. It's great fun for the whole family. His dad and I even play it when he's not there! I have never been very good @ video games, but I love this game. It is challenging in spots, but mostly just fun.
