5.0 out of 5 stars Quality cable.
I was suprised that this item was as expensive as it was. However, I decided to buy it because a bad connection can make high-quality components sound bad. I was very impressed with this cable. 2.0 out of 5 stars Great, but...
My friend has this cord to connect his iPod to his stereo, and it works great, great sound, good ease of use etc. I wanted one so I went to Bestbuy today and got one by RCA that sounds just as good for $7.99.

I was suprised that this item was as expensive as it was. However, I decided to buy it because a bad connection can make high-quality components sound bad. I was very impressed with this cable. The gold-plated male connector makes a solid connection to the computer input. The wires are massive and the RCA-stereo connectors are well-shielded, gold-plated and sturdy. This was a very good investment. I recommend it for anyone trying to connect a tape player or other device to their computer. It's a must have for people burning CD's of the LP or tape collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not sure if it's worth the money? Read on., December 7, 2000

If you're like me, you are probably wondering if these little cables are actually worth the money. I was using cheap thin wired connections before, and my receiver would have LOTS of background noise and buzzing, so I thought I'd go ahead and give these things a shot. Afterall, I listen to MP3's all the time on my computer through my high end receiver. I'll tell you what, these things work great, and are worth the extra money. Now keep in mind, I'm an audiophile who is very picky about sounds. So for the casual listener who doesn't mind occasional background hissing or lack of crystal clear sound transfer from your computer to your receiver, you might be able to find a cheaper connection. But once again, I think the extra $$ is well worth it and I HIGHLY recomend these. Your only concern here is an economical one. As far as the product is concerned, these things are top notch. Get the 20 feet if you have to go across the a long wall or room to connect your computer to the receiver, otherwise the 10 ft should suffice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Monster Cable Minijack to RCA, June 28, 2000

This is a great product and has been very helpful. While the price is a little higher than what I would like to see, I probably wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I needed it. I have used this cable to connect my TV and computer to my stereo system. Great for parties when you want your MP3's heard on the real stereo system!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cable for Long Distances, August 18, 2006
This review is from: Monster Cable JM REPC M HP-20 Computer Stereo Audio to Stereo Receiver Using Minijack-to-RCA Connection (20 ft.) (Electronics)
All of the PC to Stereo cbales I could find in the stores were only 6ft long. Due to the furniture arrangement in my living room, I needed a longer cable to make the connection. I was also worried about loss of sound quality over long distances. The 20 ft Monster Cable took care of both those issues for me. The connections are solid and the sound quality is great. It was well worth the money!

I had read other good reviews and will add mine to it. It might be a bit big, but that wasn't an issue for where I ran the cable. No hum, sounds just like I had CD's plugged into the stereo from the player. I am very happy with this cable.

I can't say whether they are worth the money, becuase I haven't tried similar products. However, they do work well, and they are built to survive a long time. They are incredibly THICK for audio cables. If you're imagining something the thickness of the typical headphone or PC-speaker wire, you're in the wrong ballpark: This is closer to the thickness of a power-strip wire. It's massive... nay, monstrous. The wire is still very supple and easy to manipulate. However, if you plan to run it across your living room floor, it will be extremely conspicuous. Although you could certainly use it as a permanent connection, its massive construction suggests that the intended use is probably in a setting where you will be frequently connecting and disconnecting, packing and unpacking, and generally giving the cord heavy use. It looks like it will take this kind of abuse fairly well. The end.

There will always be agruments about whether Monster cables are worth the money, and I think a lot of it depends on your personal situation. I'd suggest going for the cheapo Radio Shack cables first, and only upgrade if the perfomance is not satisfactory. You'll save money more often than not.

I bought this set to install in my car for a trunk mounted MP3 adapter, so I needed extra length and suspected that noise immunity would be needed as well. They work fine, and I have no complaints, but I do want to point out that they are very bulky. The molded base of the 3.5mm jack is almost as big as my MP3 player, and the cable is like a garden hose!

I had been using a shorter connector with a stereo mini pin extender to get my computer to interface with my stereo across the room and was never satisfied with the sound. No matter how I attempted to shield the cables, there was a constant annoying hum. With this new cable, the sound is clean and the dynamics of the music are clearly expressed. I love the improvement!
