5.0 out of 5 stars definitely worth it
i picked it up after seeing it on tv. it looked really good. i played the freestyle mode and was amazed. its been a while since i played MJ: Maximum Destruction, but i'm sure it didn't have tricks like backflips and endos in it. plus it can b challenging so its not just another easy game, like some of the achievements to unlock monster trucks. definitely would recommend...

2.0 out of 5 stars FUN but at a Game level
This game is good for kids who just want to drive a monster truck and have fun. What I want is a Monster Truck game to the Quality of Dirt 2. More of a simulation real life version would what I would prefer. This game would have been one star better if they just would put in steering wheel support! And people were complaining about that since the first game came out. Good...

Santa brought this one to my 3&1/2 year old son for x-mas. He is a total monster truck nut. He loves this game! Very easy for him to navigate through the different screens & trucks. We especially love the original features like the skill jump & the one where you are jumping the truck into a giant sized skee-ball platform. I love it when he asks me to play 2-player with him. We play follow-the-leader & hide-n-seek. Lots of fun!!!

Good for kids but this is not even close if you want something more real. The race tracks are pretty boring and the controls are too ridgid. I would think Monster Jam would have wanted to up the game quality overall by now but aparently it's making money. Bottom line 12 and under, enough different game play areas to play, plenty of different trucks, and stuff to smash through. My two girls are 7 and 10 and they do play it occasionaly on thier DS's. If you search around you can save a few bucks!

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy and Fun to Play, February 14, 2010

Overall this is a great game. Well engineered. Controls are in a better place then the first Monsterjam game released in 2007. The trucks are a lot easier
to achieve and unlock. Championship has more emphasis on freestyle smashing and quick sprinting without too many twist turning routes
to navigate (a pain with the first release.) Commentator narration is much better. Overall the game is more entertaining the first release.
Highly recommended!!

I bought this game to introduce my 3 year old son to some video games. I knew that most of it would be above his level but figured he would grow into it. The game has easy stuff for him to do like just drive around and crush stuff randomly. I also do multiplayer with him so that we can drive around together.

I have also found myself playing this game after he is done so it is fun but also as challenging as you want it to be.

For young players, I suggest a steering wheel instead of using a hand-held controller.

4.0 out of 5 stars Monster Jam: Urban Assult, January 6, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Monster Jam: Urban Assault (Video Game)
I bought this game for my 6 yr old son for Christmas. He has been playing it on his PS2 every chance he gets since then. It is easy for him to play and the trucks really appeal to him. Unlocking the features is easier and the methodology is better explained than in the original Monster Jam version of the game. With the many trucks, tracks, and objectives it can keep one interested for a long time without becoming boring. He can play the same level with each of the 27 trucks and each time it is a new experience. Great game, I highly recommend it!

Of the limited monster jam games available, this is the best one so far! The graphics are very close to real life, the tracks are challenging and fun. This is a very good game!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun crashing and smashing, February 20, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Monster Jam: Urban Assault (Video Game)
Fun to be allowed to drive around smashing and crashing. My boys 9 and 10 enjoy it. I have no video skills and still like to have a turn. Would have been more fun is city scenarios were based on real cities but may be that is a bit sick!
