5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, a must have!, March 2, 2011
This review is from: Monster MP PRO 2500 10-Outlet Power Center with Stage 2 Clean Power (Electronics)
Where to start?! Before I started touring I was content with a power strip, but after an electrical mishap that put both of my Randall amp heads in the shop, I decided it was time for a power conditioner. This is by far one of the best units on the market for this price. Really, as a musician this is a must have.

Touring led me to a lot of places where I questioned the integrity of the wiring. This little unit gives me a constant display of just what kind of power I have flowing. It also has lights that will tell me if the power is dangerous, if there is a faulty ground, etc. Needless to say it gives me incredible piece of mind knowing my equipment has a frontline defense against any electrical problems, be it low/high volts, sudden surge, etc. The display is easy to read as well.

I love that this unit only takes up 1 rack space. I've seen people with power centers taking up 2-4 spaces. That is crazy! With this, I have plenty of room for all my other rack gear. It even has an input for a light which may be handy for some people.

This center has plenty of outlets, more than enough for my needs. Usually we plug my guitar rig, the bass player's rig, and our vocal processor into it and still have room to spare. It has 2 outlets on front in addition to the ones in the back, which is really handy, especially if you have to have quick easy access to an outlet. Each outlet on the back is color coded and named for what its for. The 2 gold coded are for high power equipment (this is where my amp head plugs to) and then 2 outlets for digital devices, 2 for analog, etc. This is a nice feature to me.

I have heard complaints on other sites of this unit not cleaning up sound; keep in mind this isn't a noise gate. It will keep your power healthy eliminating any interference. I know before I had this unit, my pedals (analog and digital) were slightly more noisy and God knows my amp was at times, depending on venue quality. Take it to a recording studio and run your equipment without the 2500 and then with it. You should be able to hear the difference.

Monster always makes a quality product and this is no exception. Its built to last, has great customer service behind it, high quality materials used, the main power supply chord is a monster! (no pun intended), it only takes up 1 unit, AND its a fair price. Trust me, I kinda cringed when I bought this at first, but after paying $500 in electrical work to be done on my amps, I wish I would have invested in this sooner. The 2500 looks good in your rack and works exactly how it should. How great is that? Don't be tricked into paying $300+ for a power center thats probably going to eat up valuable rack room. Grab this up. Hell, grab 2 and run your entertainment system through it, plug your computer into it. When my g/f asked if I really needed this I said YES! Its the one piece of my equipment that I can use for a variety of applications outside of music. Perfectly happy with it.

Use this in our church, for over a year now. Did not "clean" the power like I thougt it would. Our facility is really old and I didn't think any unit would get rid of everything. It is nice to have everything plugged into one unit and it turns things off in an orderly fashion, so there is no popping of the amp through the speakers, which is its main strength. Looks and fits in the rack nicely. Would recommend.

Plenty of outlets. Quality build & cable. Voltage meter on front. Simple interface. I consider these superior to Furman & would buy another.

These are expensive devices, but I can see where the money goes; quality cabling, metering, etc., plus the inputs (outputs) are specific to the type of device (digital, analog, high-current)that it supports. I honestly don't hear the difference yet, but I'm usually running an amp on a higher gain level, so how can I say it cleans up the signal :)
