Computer Users Fight an Uphill Battle to Protect Their Equipment From AC Power Surges and Spikes
Whether you use a slim notebook, a computerized organizer, or maybe both, portable computing devices are an integral part of how you do business. Every time you plug directly into a phone/modem line or AC wall outlet, you run the risk of power surges and noise damaging the sensitive electronic circuitry inside your equipment. This can cause data loss or lock-up, which paralyzes you from getting anything alone. Carrying a bulky six or eight outlet surge protector is impractical, especially because space is often a premium when traveling, and laptop cases simply don't accommodate these large surge protectors.

Monster's Computer PowerCenter PC200 Delivers Compact, Surge Protection Solution
Monster's Computer PowerCenter PC 200 is a compact, reliable surge protection device for today's road warriors. PC200 features advanced SurgeGuard Circuitry for maximum surge protection (1110 joules). SurgeGuard protects your portable computing device when it's plugged into the PC200 three-prong AC power outlet, and when you're on the Internet using the RJ11 modem/phone connections. Monster's Dual Mode Plus feature disconnects your PC200 from the AC power. An audible alarm then beeps to instantly let you know your PowerCenter has sacrificed its life to protect your equipment. Monster's convenient color-coded labeling system allows you to immediately identify each cord you're using. So, you never have to worry about accidentally unplugging the wrong component in a hectic business meeting or airport terminal.

Discover Maximum Computer Surge Protection and Performance
Wherever your travels take you, PC200 provides maximum surge protection for all your computer connections. PC200 lets you stop worrying about power surges, so you can get on with the business at hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Portable AND semi-permanent applications, July 13, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Monster PC200 Computer PowerCenter¿ with Surge Protection Including Phone Line/Fax with Audible and Visual Indicators (Electronics)
First thing first, this unit takes up BOTH plugs. There is a three-prong plug and a second ground prong on the back. There is also a screw that mounts this unit (semi-permanently) to the wall socket. You simply back out the screw that holds the plastic wall plate to your outlet and screw this in, leaving the plastic wall plate in place. (I probably wrote that in a way that comes off as complicated, but it's not.) You can remove the screw from the unit and take it on vacation / trips with you for your laptop and what not.

Lastly, there IS NO WAY your plug will fall out of this device! When you go to plug in your computer, or whatever, you wil notice that it is REALLY hard to push in. The contacts are supposed to be that way to further protect your device/computer from having the cord accidently ripped out. You'll find it's a bit overkill if you are using this for a device that requires you to plug and unplug it daily. But I dig it.

I highly recommend this unit!
