5.0 out of 5 stars It Does What I Want
My entire Home Theater is powered through a Panamax isolating / regulating power supply. All except my sub-woofer. I wanted to isolate it as well. I only needed a small socket mounted protection device and I found this item. It only takes up the lower socket on the standard wall socket, so you can still plug the vacuum into the upper one. The item has one more socket...

3.0 out of 5 stars its thick for installing behind LCD mounted on wall
good product but don't buy if you don't have more than 4 innch of space between LCD/plasma screen and the wall, as it will stick out 2 inch and you still need 1.5 inch for the power-plug.

The item has one more socket than I needed, no problem, I put a child-safety cover into the other one so nothing else gets plugged in. It also has a coaxial isolation for your cable, I don't use it. I give it five stars because it does what I want it to do, and it didn't break the bank.

This model was less intrusive than the single outlet Belkin MasterCube F9H120-CW 1-Outlet Wall-Mount Surge Protector even though it has two outlets. If appearance is an issue I would stick with this Monster unit.

Without a need for more than 2 outlets, my only goal was to find the least protruding on-wall surge protector with a decent surge capacity. This one turned out to be perfect. It also comes with coax cable protection, which I don't use. Be aware that it takes up both of the existing outlets on a standard wall plate.

5.0 out of 5 stars surge protector, August 30, 2008

I like the plug-in style, no power-strip on the floor to get in the way of the vacuum cleaner or mop. Plus, there is an extra outlet and a connection for cable. Practical. compact, out of the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Idea, January 27, 2008

My wall mounted HDTV was unprotected until I found this item. It is a nice idea. It plugs into the top outlet. A plastic peg plugs into the ground hole of the bottom outlet. It is a little wider than I would like. I have a quad outlet and although I can still use the other two outlets, I can no longer use them for power transformers. Also it is longer than the outlet by 2 inches and will interfere with anything installed below the oulet.

2.0 out of 5 stars One Issue - and it may be deal breaker for some, May 27, 2008
This review is from: Monster Home Series LCD PowerProtect, 2 outlets, White (HS MP AVFL200) (Electronics)
I bought this surge protector for my 52-inch LCD that was being mounted to the wall. I installed a new receptacle outlet behind the TV in an area of the TV that would make it easy to plug in (i.e., in an area of the TV with an indentation). I used a standard flat wall mount with the deepest brackets available in the kit (again to make plugging the TV in as easy as possible). My 52-in Sony LCD comes with a standard 3-prong plug (not a flat plug) such that when the TV was plugged in the surge protector the TV was unable to lay vertical b/c the TV butted against the plug/surge protector. I am not sure that any surge protector would solve this problem since they all would have to stick out some distance from the wall. One solution would be to purchase a mount that would provide sufficient rear clearance, but that would make TV stick off of the wall even further reducing the aesthetics of the installation. Just something to consider during your planning stages.

I used the surge for my components and I am sure it works fine - but plan accordingly if you use this as a surge protector behind a wall mounted panel.

Purchased this for my LCD Screen. I had previously installed recessed boxes behind the tv for power and the A/V feed. The surge supressors were to long and would not fit inside the recessed enclosure. I will have to find something else to protect my tv's from a surge. If the coax feeds were taken off of the supressor it would have for just fine.

This product works great behind my tv but you need about 4in of space behind your tv to fit this plug behind it. I have a motorized mount and it fits just fine and now I have peace of mind for my tv and wall mount.
