Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Monster Rancher Explorer is a puzzle-adventure game that features characters from the original Monster Rancher game. Players assume the role of an anthropologist named Cox. Your mission is to climb a white tower that holds a monster at the top floor. On each floor, you'll capture monsters and absorb their powers. Search for keys to advance to the next level. Armed with a hammer and fireworks, you'll build and eliminate boxes while dodging enemies.

Product Description

The MONSTER RANCHER franchise returns with this thoroughly entertaining adventure for handheld gamers. Help the well-meaning Cox fight through 60 enormous, puzzle-filled levels, fending off certain monsters while allying yourself with others. Each level requires you to find a hidden key in order to advance to the next stage, a task that becomes increasingly difficult as things progress. Luckily, you're not going at it alone. You can unlock such friendly beasts as Gali, Hare, Mocchi, Suezo, and Tiger in order to help you fend off all enemies. Each of the friendly monsters serves as a power-up of sorts, increasing your overall speed, granting you temporary invincibility, and more. Fans of the series know just how fun collecting and utilizing monsters can be, and the premise is at its absolute best in this GBA installment. Cool, anime-style graphics abound throughout the massive gaming experience, which allows you to play alone or square off against a fellow Rancher.

1.0 out of 5 stars A really dumb game, August 20, 2001
This review is from: Monster Rancher Explorer (Game Cartridge)
I bought this game, played it, And didn't play it again. What you do is you control this little guy,and you Jump around the screen and collect items and stuff. You can also Make boxes out of thin air by pressing a button,or you can make them dissappear with the same button. Each level has a key you must collect to open the door to the next level. The are also little Monsters that you can kill by using the box appear thing on them. You can also collect 4 peices of pottery to contain a certain monster that will give you a special ability. It may sound good, but youhave to play it to belive me. If your planning on buying it,don't,Unless your a REALLY big Monster Rancher fan! Even if you are,you might not like it!

Mario style character puzzel game. Quite interesting involing Monsters to help beat oppenents and get you to the key and out of the level. Very fun Multiplayer levels that you create. You should borrow it from a friend or rent it. Don't buy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's a little bit Lode Runner, and a little bit Pitfall., October 29, 2000

This review is from: Monster Rancher Explorer (Game Cartridge)
The game is very similar in design to another classic game, Lode Runner -- in Monster Rancher Explorer, you're a tomb explorer who can drop and destroy crates with a simple wave of your hand. it has Dozens of puzzles, Battery save, and Link cable support for two players
