Editorial Reviews

Review

"The theme of individuality and acceptance comes through, and transitioning independent readers will be drawn to the large font and silly illustrations." -- School Library Journal

Slightly creepy tongue-in-cheek humor abounds, as it did in the author's Bobby Bramble Loses His Brain (2009), and is sure to elicit chuckles. Not just for the first day of school; this is sure to appeal year-round. -- Kirkus Reviews

About the Author

Dave Keane always loved monsters as a kid. Halloween was his favorite holiday and he dreamed of becoming a werewolf or a vampire when he grew up. Instead, he became a children's book writer and illustrator. Now he and his wife stay busy raising three little monsters of their own in Northern California.

More About the Author

After spending so much time reading books to my kids, I decided I'd try my hand at children's books. It's been a blast. I've visited schools all over the country. I've talked to thousands of kids about writing, illustrating, and using your imagination. And I've received tons of incredible letters and emails from parents and kids from just about everywhere.

We checked this out from the library and my 4year old refused to return it. He "had" to keep it forever. We've read it like 80 times and he has the whole thing memorized.

the story itself is ok but using the kindle app on an ipad was not the best idea for an emerging reader. They use thier fingers to read and the pages kept turning unintentionally.

My son (age 4) loved this book and memorized after week 1. Great purchase. Definitely recommend to other families with young children.
