Whether you're running a complete THX system or not, why chance the use of inferior products? To make certain you are getting all of the audio you can muster from your surround sound you should use this cable. Optic cable has very little loss, I know, I utilize fiber optics for a career. Sure Monster cables typically cost more than most (if not all), but I've always been a firm believer in getting what you pay for. Sure, I can't afford high end vehicles. However, I can afford this cable and you can't afford not to buy one too.

I don't like to spend more than necessary for quality cables, but the less expensive (and better selling) models on Amazon were prone to slipping out of my Yamaha receiver. The monster cable provides a nice, snug fit.

I had not been satisfied with the sound quality from my surround sound system, until I decided to purchase this optical cable. The quality of construction and audio it delivers totally rejuvenates my 9 year old system. I suppose any optical cable would do, but I trust the Monster brand. I have purchased Monster products in the past, whenever I could afford it, so I had expectations of high performance and longevity and it delivered. I installed the cable and played a DVD through my system and for the first time it was like being in the theater. An additional plus was the combined low price and quick delivery of the cable. Thanks to Monster and Amazon I'm thoroughly enjoying my home theater experiences again.

Not much I can say about a fiber optic cable. It was simple to use, snapped seamlessly into the input slots... I would buy again.

Nice product. Looks nice, easy installation. Seems to be of high quality material. Not much experience with fiber optic cables...but I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again.

Works as intended. I have no complaints with it. Would buy again when needed. We had to connect this to a converter box to get the AppleTV's audio to a Bose system.

Cable fits good into TV and receiver, it is working well so far and I have no complaints at all.

The sound quality that we receive from this little cord is amazing. I, tested the regular RCA inputs against this and was astonished at the difference. Great purchase. Be very thoughtful of the length, this is all the length we needed.

I have a mid-level home theatre setup including a Denon AVR, Denon SACD Player, A Panasonic Plasma TV, WDTV and PS3 console all hooked up together using HDMI cables. For Speakers I have the KEF IQ-series. I am a firm believer that interconnecting cables make a visible difference to the quality of your home theater experience. But to be fair, a consumer level setup like mine hardly requires or can justify $200 cables. The difference would be negligible at best. This cable is great value for money! It does contribute to sharper and clearer sound from my WDTV. As my amplifier does not route sound through HDMI and is a video pass-through only, I've connected my WDTV using this cable and the results are amazing! this cable is of good quality, compared to other reviews of cables that are much cheaper. it isnt that long, but it reaches as far as i need it to.
