Buy Monster Jam Urban Assault instead!,

This review is from: Monster Truck Mayhem (Video Game)
I had already purchased and played extensively with Monster Jam Urban Assault [Activision] when I purchased this game. What a let-down! I felt like I was back in the 1990's! --The graphics and physics are just that simple! No obvious car-damage after collisions! Not much illusion of speed! If you run out of "boost," which is easy to do, you just putt-putt around the track...the joke is that you can still easily place first! The music sounds like it was wasn't EVEN state-of-the-art in the 1990's. I understand children may be frustrated with this game, but for me, an "experienced" video-racer, it was just too easy to do the challenges and unlock the new cars! Within the first half-hour, I had unlocked two bonus vehicles. Okay, I admit, the roof-top race was kind of cool, if only for the up-high perspective, and jumping over large chasms...and I'm still trying to get that one right! All-in-all, though, this game is either too frustrating for the inexperienced, or too lame for the experienced. Spend the extra money and get Monster Jam Urban Assault, instead...but not for your six-year-old!

Don't waste your money!,

We bought this game for our 6 year old. He became very easily frustrated. You are only given one race and you have win first place before opening a new race. Controlling the truck is also very hard so coming in first place is very hard. Very lame game...wish I would have researched before buying this one.

Frustrating,

My nine-year-old quickly lost interest in this game because the controls were difficult to manage and frustrating. He had a hard time getting the trucks to do much more than spin around in one spot. He was also disappointed that there weren't enough opportunities to actually race without obstacles, like toxic waste barrels, that cause your vehicle to crash or blow up.
