I bought the excact same cables from BEst Buy for more than twice the
cost..I returned the cables after some research and found Digital Fix sold them for $50. I received cables in less than a week. Cables came in a plastic bag(unlike B/B Product), look new and work great!

I purchased this in June 2007 from accessories4les through Amazon for forty bucks. The cable works well with my cable (1080i) and with my Playstation 3 (1080p). Not all hdmi cables work with 1080p (I have one that does not). This one does work with 1080p. This is a quality cable and works as promised.

For all those "digital is digital" 1s and 0s, cable type doesn't matter,
blah blah blah advacates ( or activists), I will say it's time to rest your case. I am in the medical profession and when it comes to electronics I find myself wanting, and therefore rely heavily on online product reviews for all my electronic needs. Money is not a problem, but at the same I hate to waste money on things I do not consider worthy of the money I pay. So when I read all the "Digital is digital" 1s and 0s stuff, I went ahead and bought the cheapest HDMI cable I could find on amazon.com. For $16.00 I got 2 6ft cables and connected my Home theater and cable box to my Samsung 61" LED DLP HDTV. The cables were Phoenix Gold bronze brand.( bronze being the chepest). Phoenix Gold also makes HDMI cables in silver , gold and platinum. Picture quality was so horible I almost return the TV. But the Picture quality on DVD was slightly better. That was when I decided to get an upgrade on the cable just to prove that the TV is the problem. I got this 4ft 800 series for $37.00, less than a third of what it costs at the retail stores. I can clearly see the difference. So please for the sake of those of us who rely on these reviews stop confusing us.REST your case. Unless you are saying BUIK is no different from Lexus or Mercedez benz.

Some people say it's not worth it to spend a lot of money on HDMI cables, but since I already spent some good money on a nice TV, home theatre and a PS3, I just wanted to get the best out of my investments. All I can say is that the image is vivid and beautiful. This cable is doing the work. I don't regret this purchase and I'd recomend it to anyone. If I could give any advise on them is that you may want to consider getting something a little bit longer. My entertainment center is not big at all, and this cable is roughly reaching my TV

Monster cables always speak for themselves. You know when you buy Monster, you are getting some of the best HDMI cables available. These are no different. They are solidly constructed and durable. I would buy these again for sure the next time I need more HDMI cables.

Huge improvement over the El Cheapo cables I had. Movies on my PS3 now look sharp and the colors are so vivid. The build quality on these cables are exceptional. Monster tends to overprice their cables but it is well worth the investment.

I bought this cable at Best Buy for a ridiculous price. But, I opened the plastic, and now I can't return it. That being said, I haven't had any problems with it, so my only qualm is the price I paid for it.
It does exactly what I want it to do, and works every time, without any problems. I don't feel right giving it five stars unless it goes above and beyond, and I haven't woken up to breakfast in bed yet, so it gets four stars. It works exactly as I want, but it doesn't have any unexpected bonuses.

Monster has been peddling overpriced HDMI cables for years. And for years, lots of people have been saying that there's no reason to pay that much. Now, Monster cables that used to be $100 or more are a fifth of that price. Still overpriced, but that should tell you something. The market has spoken and people have finally become wise to the hype. I feel bad for those who bought them a while back and paid top dollar. Caveat emptor.

Overpriced and feeding on consumer ignorance!,

Don't buy into the hype the sales people at Big Box stores or Monster feeds you. Folks, there is no need to spend this over inflated price on an HDMI cable.
There is an article in NY Times on June 10, 2009 about how to tweak your HDTV to make it perform at its best. The article specifically advises readers not to be tempted to spend too much on cables. It also quotes industry expert Joe Kane. His advice: "Cheap cables that cost 75 cents per foot work as well as those that cost $100 per foot," said Mr. Kane. "With the latest HDMI cables, if you see a picture and hear the sound, you know it works." |
