Venus and Rochelle are ready to shake it at the zombie dance
on June 12, 2014
So I was finally able to score these at my local Toys R Us. It was interesting to me that there were less of these than the of the Werecat sister pack. There were 3 of these sets as opposed to 6 zombie shake werecats. Not sure if these are more rare, or just more popular and people had already bought some.....just thought it worth mentioning. Now on to the review.
Venus is very girly in this incarnation...and I like it. Her hair is drawn up into a high ponytail. It is mainly equal parts hot pink and green with a few black streaks. Her ponytail holder is a made of very long translucent plastic vines that extend upward, it reminds me almost of a crown. The most amazing part of her hair to me is that the shaved/flocked side features the most amazing green outline of a BRAIN!! which fits in perfectly with the zombie theme. I though this was very cute and clever. Her makeup is done almost entirely in shades of green. There is a very thin line of pink around her eye followed by a shade of medium green, and then that is outlined with a lighter shade of green. The eyes are very dramatic and meant to look sunken like a zombies. She has two long lines of green vines painted on her face above and below her left eye, and two shorter spurts of green vines above and below her right eye. In her right ear is a translucent green plastic ear cuff. She also has very long translucent green vines on each leg and one long vine on her right arm, with a shorter vine on her left arm, and a vine wrapped around her neck. She has a wide spiked black cuff bracelet on her right wrist as well. Her sweetheart neckline dress is adorable. It is mainly black and metallic green stripes with a few white stripes thrown in. It has a jagged hemline. There is a hot pink glittery tulle overlay. Her belt is green and looks just like her jagged teeth. Her shoes are hot pink anti-gravity wedges with teeth/flytrap mouths on the front and spikes running along the wedge of the heel. She carries a semi-translucent green small purse.
Rochelle translates perfectly into the zombie world as she is pretty much very gothic to begin with. Her hair is goregeous drawn up into a high ponytail that cascades into soft curls. It is her usual shade of pink and turquoise streaks with a few added black streaks as well. She has a hard curl of bangs in the front. Since her hair pretty much covers her ears she has no earrings. She wears a thick black headband with a blue brain and some black tulle with gold glitter accents. The use of the tulle on the headband was unexpected and really quite cool. Her facepaint is beautiful. Her eyes are done very thickly in turquoise blue shadow with a light grey shadow surrounding this. It is meant to maker her eyes look sunken like a zombies. Her lips are a medium shade of turquoise blue. She has black lines/cracks painted on her face under her left eye. (It is interesting to note that the box art showed her with cracks on the right side of her face as well but these are not present on my doll). She also has black cracks painted on her left leg and right arm as well. Her sweetheart neckline mini dress has a black background with a magenta metallic/holographic print with skullettes and fleur di lis that is meant to resemble stained glass. There is a black tulle overlay with opalescent glitter. Since the neckline of the dress comes to a collar around her neck she has no necklace. She wears a black cuff bracelet on her left wrist that has a delicate scrolling design. On her right wrist is a light blue cuff bracelet that is broken/crumbing around the edges. Her belt is the same turquoise shade as the cuff. It has a scroll design with a small fleur di lis hidden in the center. Her purse is small and black with a design done in turquoise that is meant to look like cathedral windows. Her shoes are black peep toe heels. The heel to me looks like a piece of rebar, the outer edges of the show have a cathedral window design similar to her purse, and on the back of the shoe is a small griffin.
This pack comes with two basic black stands (hooray), a black brush, and a diary. Overall I think this two pack is awesome and I hope that we see more releases in this line in the future.
