So I was finally able to score these at my local Toys R Us. It was interesting to me that there were less of these than the of the Werecat sister pack. There were 3 of these sets as opposed to 6 zombie shake werecats. Not sure if these are more rare, or just more popular and people had already bought some.....just thought it worth mentioning. Now on to the review.

Venus is very girly in this incarnation...and I like it. Her hair is drawn up into a high ponytail. It is mainly equal parts hot pink and green with a few black streaks. Her ponytail holder is a made of very long translucent plastic vines that extend upward, it reminds me almost of a crown. The most amazing part of her hair to me is that the shaved/flocked side features the most amazing green outline of a BRAIN!! which fits in perfectly with the zombie theme. I though this was very cute and clever. Her makeup is done almost entirely in shades of green. There is a very thin line of pink around her eye followed by a shade of medium green, and then that is outlined with a lighter shade of green. The eyes are very dramatic and meant to look sunken like a zombies. She has two long lines of green vines painted on her face above and below her left eye, and two shorter spurts of green vines above and below her right eye. In her right ear is a translucent green plastic ear cuff. She also has very long translucent green vines on each leg and one long vine on her right arm, with a shorter vine on her left arm, and a vine wrapped around her neck. She has a wide spiked black cuff bracelet on her right wrist as well. Her sweetheart neckline dress is adorable. It is mainly black and metallic green stripes with a few white stripes thrown in. It has a jagged hemline. There is a hot pink glittery tulle overlay. Her belt is green and looks just like her jagged teeth. Her shoes are hot pink anti-gravity wedges with teeth/flytrap mouths on the front and spikes running along the wedge of the heel. She carries a semi-translucent green small purse.

Rochelle translates perfectly into the zombie world as she is pretty much very gothic to begin with. Her hair is goregeous drawn up into a high ponytail that cascades into soft curls. It is her usual shade of pink and turquoise streaks with a few added black streaks as well. She has a hard curl of bangs in the front. Since her hair pretty much covers her ears she has no earrings. She wears a thick black headband with a blue brain and some black tulle with gold glitter accents. The use of the tulle on the headband was unexpected and really quite cool. Her facepaint is beautiful. Her eyes are done very thickly in turquoise blue shadow with a light grey shadow surrounding this. It is meant to maker her eyes look sunken like a zombies. Her lips are a medium shade of turquoise blue. She has black lines/cracks painted on her face under her left eye. (It is interesting to note that the box art showed her with cracks on the right side of her face as well but these are not present on my doll). She also has black cracks painted on her left leg and right arm as well. Her sweetheart neckline mini dress has a black background with a magenta metallic/holographic print with skullettes and fleur di lis that is meant to resemble stained glass. There is a black tulle overlay with opalescent glitter. Since the neckline of the dress comes to a collar around her neck she has no necklace. She wears a black cuff bracelet on her left wrist that has a delicate scrolling design. On her right wrist is a light blue cuff bracelet that is broken/crumbing around the edges. Her belt is the same turquoise shade as the cuff. It has a scroll design with a small fleur di lis hidden in the center. Her purse is small and black with a design done in turquoise that is meant to look like cathedral windows. Her shoes are black peep toe heels. The heel to me looks like a piece of rebar, the outer edges of the show have a cathedral window design similar to her purse, and on the back of the shoe is a small griffin.

This pack comes with two basic black stands (hooray), a black brush, and a diary. Overall I think this two pack is awesome and I hope that we see more releases in this line in the future.

At Monster High there has been a monster mishap in the Mad Science Lab. It seems that some of the non-zombie students at Monster High have become involved in "an outbreak of strange zombie-like behavior". The "diary" included with this set of dolls includes a transcript of a conversation between Rochelle and Venus where they discuss an upcoming school dance and what they will wear to the dance. They are also worried about their zombie friend Ghoulia Yelps. It seems that Ghoulia has been seen dancing in the halls of the school and this is quite out of character for her.

Rochelle Goyle
Rochelle's exposure to the mystery virus has caused black painted cracks to appear on her stone skin. She shows the cracking on her check, upper arm and shin. Rochelle is wearing much darker makeup than usual with turquoise shadows encircling her pink eyes and the same shade of blue lipstick. Her hair perfectly matches the colors of her makeup and is styled with bangs and curls. Rochelle is wearing a high collared halter dress that is black with a metallic purple print with a skull and wrought iron design. Her dress has an overlay of black glitter netting with the proper amount of zombie fraying at the neck and skirt. Rochelle's accessories are fantastic! Her best accessories are her shoes - black open toed heels with ankle cuffs. Embossed on her shoes are designs of gothic windows, the heels are pillars and on the back of the ankle cuff is a figure of Rochelle's pet gargoyle griffin Roux. Rochelle is also wearing a black wrought iron design headband with a tiny blue brain fascinator on top. She has a swirly turquoise belt and plain cuff bracelet. Her handbag is black with a turquoise design of stained glass. Rochelle comes with detachable wings that fit into her back.

Venus McFlytrap
The mystery substance from the Mad Science Lab seems to have accelerated growths on Venus. She is covered with extra twining vines that coil up her legs, around her neck and wrists and on her ear and hair. Venus also has painted vines that appear on her face around the eyes, on her cheek and on the shaved side of her head. Like Rochelle, Venus has extra dark eye makeup - large dark green circles around her eyes. She is also wearing dark green lipstick that shows her fangs. Venus has her hair pulled back into a high side ponytail. Her hair is the customary bright pink and green, but this time she also has black streaking in her hair around her face. Venus is wearing a black dress with metallic green tiger stripes. Her dress has an overlay of pink glitter netting that is cut to look like the bottom edge is frayed. Beyond the translucent green vines, Venus's accessories include a spiky black cuff bracelet, pink high heeled shoes with fangs and spikes and a green pocketbook.

This set comes with two doll stands and a diary. I found these dolls at a Justice store where the set is priced at $50. Those familiar with Justice stores know they have frequent ongoing sales where most toys can be purchased at 40% to 50% off the listed price.

Very pretty dolls! Accessories on Venus are a bit of a nuisance to keep on, but they are so beautiful. My daughter loves the brain detailing on Venus doll's hair for the Zombie theme. The wings are easily attached and stay on well. The stands that come with these are also a bit of a pain to use, but wouldn't be so bad if only bought to display.

I gave these to my daughter for her birthday and she loves them! She plays with them none stop. I think they are very cute and some of my favorite amount our large collection of monster high dolls. I thought this was a great price for the double set. I also was happy that she happened to have neither one of these. I was looking for the Rochelle Goyle doll. Getting The Venice McFlytrap included is awesome! So happy with this purchase and so is s my daughter. It was her favorite gift this year.

I bought these as a sort of "Secret Santa" gift for a family who needed help buying a Christmas present for their 10 year old. The rules state that you can only buy a single present for the child. I bought a single doll at a brick and mortar store first, and then came across this "two-pack" on Amazon for the same price! I returned that doll and bought this duo instead. When they arrived, both were securely in their display box which had no damage that I can see, and the dolls looked just like the photo. I can't comment on their longevity, because I'm obviously not going to be playing with them (but if that's your thing, go for it!) I think the longevity depends on the individual child and how rough they are with their toys. I can say that these arrived in good condition, they are authentic, they look like the picture, they are a steal for the price, and it appears that they will make a good gift. A similar two-doll box at the aforementioned store would cost 35-40 dollars. If you are on the fence about buying this, I would recommend that you purchase these on Amazon before you buy them in-store, as you can get two dolls instead of one.

This was given as a Christmas gift for a younger child. Once receiving the toys from amazon I was blown away at the detail in the dolls. I can see why Monster High dolls are such a huge hit. They are very unique, bright and fun! These made an excellent gift and I will keep the Monster High brand in mind for futher gifts as well! The box they came in was received in perfect condition, no dents. Also, all of the accessories appeared to be included.

Venus and Rochelle are fast becoming two of my favourite ghouls a school! This release is a particularly great one for any MH collector or fan. Each doll has a slew of great details from head to toe, many of which don't photograph particularly well for stock shots. My dolls had a few issues straight out of the box, but they are overall two of my favourite new additions to the ever-growing collection shelf. They're extremely lively and ready to party!

Rochelle's hair was a bit messy out of the box, so she'll need a bit of TLC before I put her on display, but her updo topped with a headband style fascinator with black net and a "brain" top hat. Her dress is decorated with a similar mesh-net overlay. The main body of her dress is black with pink, metallic details (the stock photos make these details look more purple than in person). Her shoes, however, are my absolute favourite part of her ensemble. The back, just above the heel, has a little miniature Roux, and the sides of the shoes have little stained glass windows molded into the plastic! Rochelle's make-up includes "crack" details all over her body.

Meanwhile, Venus is looking glamorous in a extra vine-wrapped get-up. The vines she usually has on her ankles and wrists have spread a bit further than usual for this release, and have wrapped her throat as a dramatic choker. Even her hair has a few of her signature vines worked into the ponytail! Her dress is a striped silver, green, and black strapless dress with a hot pink mesh overlay similar to the one on Rochelle's own outfit. As usual, I love her shoes for this release. They have thorn coated spines from heel to platform, and a fanged mouth on the front of platform. Venus' make-up includes extra vines on her face around her eyes.

Certain details are the same or parallel between the two dolls. Venus and Rochelle both have "clawed" hand postures for this release (just like the werecat twins from the same release). They also have generous amounts of black worked into their usual hair colours. They also both have plastic belts matching their particular dresses.

This two pack comes with a handbag and stand for each doll, a brush for them to share between them, and a "conversation" diary.

Just bought these girls from Amazon, they came quickly (Prime, you rock!) and they are lovely dolls. I love all the detail they put into Venus's accessories & Rochelle's hair is beautiful!
I went ahead and gave this 4 stars (the dolls themselves are definitely 5 stars!) only because there was a packaging mistake. The booklet that was included belongs to Meowlody and Purrsephone instead of Venus and Rochelle which might be something a collector may not like. It really wasnt an issue for me since the dolls were taken out of the packages right away...and who knows maybe this mistake would actually be worth something to a collector? I dont know but I figured it'd be worth mentioning! And who knows this could have been just a random oops with the particular package I received. I also ordered the Meowlody and Purrsephone set when I ordered these girls & their booklet was correct. Meowlody & Purrsephone are also a great set!
