Music on the Road

Traveling with music is a great way to make a long car trip go by quick, but radio stations do not always play your favorites. Taking along CDs allows you to play what you want, but fumbling through discs while you drive is not safe and carrying a large number of discs can be awkward. Carrying personal media devices such as an iPod are a great way to take your music with you, but these devices are meant for a single user with headphones, how do your friends hear what is being played?
casette adaptor
Driving Tunes for Everyone

With the Monster iCarPlay Cassette 800, all of the music stored on your iPod, iPhone, Android phone, or MP3 player is just a click away. Simply connect the cable into your player's headphone jack, pop the cassette adaptor into your car's cassette player and all of your music is now playing through car's audio system. Enjoy your music and share with the whole car for the entire trip...

Special Monster Features

Since cassette decks in cars are not always laid out in the same manner, the iCarPlay Cassette 800's cable can be moved from one end of the cassette to the other. This allows for hassle free operation, no matter how your car's cassette deck is laid out.

Good sound quality.

I've tried several FM Transmiters out there, including Monster's product, and this cassette adapter produced better sound quality than any of them.
Daniel Torres
This unit creates a loud humming noise and you can hear the mechanism clicking in the cassette at low volumes.

I have been buying one cassette adapter after another (yes, I am doing my part to revive our economy), and I have been frustrated again and again. With the Monster iCarPlay Cassette Adapter 800 I have finally found a cassette adapter that doesn't rattle as the spokes turn in my vehicle's player; however, I have found a cassette adapter that instead provides a low hum. It sounds like an impedance mismatch or grounding problem but I am not a big expert on audio problems so I cannot say for sure. Most of the time, the music covers the hum (just as it did the rattles) but I hear it when there is low or no music. (It actually helps to remind me the adapter is still in and the player on, as did the rattle, of course, but that is not ideal.)

For others with music quality problems, I would ask if you have turned down the volume on your player to prevent overdriving the cassette heads. This is a basic step for me, but I am not sure if it is common knowledge for everyone.

Love that the rattle is gone.
Hate that there is a low hum (as I am easily bothered by certain noises, as if you couldn't guess).
Like the shorter cord (as my iPhone/iPod sit close to the cassette player and the longer cords of other adapters get all tangled).
Like the black color with a touch of red (aesthetics).

Still searching for the perfect adapter.

...sigh...

Before I bought this product, I read all the reviews. I'll admit that I had some reservations about buying the adapter with all that had been written about it. I am writing because I am concerned that the Monster Cassette adapter may have gotten a bad rap. When I finally received my iPod, I attached it to the adapter and loaded the cassette. I had no difficulty with its operation and was especially impressed by the quality of sound. I did not have to remove any gears or monkey with the adapter in any way. It worked as advertised from the beginning even though my player has automatic reverse. I will add that I bought the iPod to listen to audiobooks so my requirements about sound quality are not as rigorous as they might be if I were listening to music. Still the sound I have been getting from the Monster adapter in my 15 year old cassette player is better than I got from either tape or CD, music or spoken word. There is no background noise. I would highly recommend the equipment for non-audiophiles and audiophiles who bought an iPod to play in an old vehicle to listen to books.

Cassette tape adapters in gerneal tend to die after a short period of a year or two, and their sound quality is only mediocre. However if you do go with this, and i highly recommend you do if you have a cassette tape player in your car, then Monster is the way to go. Ive been through a couple other brands and this monster adapter seems to be the best one. The quality is great, black with red lines color scheme a nice touch (well the cassette will be inside the player so you wont see it much), aslo the audio quality is much better then others, good bass and treble. The small details are all here, gold plated connecters, premium wiring, and also, the wire can be rearranged to stick out one end or the other. its priced a bit more, but you wont regret it.

I tried many cheaper cassette player branded and generic and doesnt work on my Toyota Rav4 2004. Others cassette adapters keep ejecting every 3 seconds. Something anoyng. But this Monster iCarPlay Cassette Adapter 800 works nice. The sound is pretty good, equal or almost cd quality. The radio hold it inside since first use. Not ejecting like others. No modification at all. Just remove from package and ready to play music. Its not perfect either because you can hear a short noise that comes from the inside of the casette. I think it could be the wheels of the casette. But for me is not an issue because the volume I use, hide that noise.

The title says that is designed for iPod and iPhone but Im using it on a Samsung Galaxy S4 with no problem. I like to keep things as stock as posible on cars. I had the option to change the radio for other with Aux port but I like the original. If you think like me this is the cassette you need. I didn't tested the phillips but probably works too, but is more expensive.

I Usually Stay away from Monster and go with any-brand cables, Especially for digital cables...BUT.... After going through 3 different tape adapters and having an array of problems mentioned below... THIS ONE is a HUGE breath of fresh air, Pretty much perfect....
Pros
1. The Tape itself in the player doesnt click and clack like nearly every other adapter
2. The "hiss" of silence that these adapters are famous for is nearly inaudible especially with your MP3 Player configured correctly (volume at 50-70% from your ipod/mp3 - Then control volume with the dial in your stero), There is no comparison to any other adapter i've tried this one has very little "noise"
3. The cord is thicker than the usually are for these adapters
4. Audio quality seems MUCH better, less static, Less noise, overall worth the 5-8$ premium youll pay over a cheap version.

When you're cruising around in a 1995 Mercedes Benz, this product is a must have! Now that I have this product, I'm able to listed to my podcasts, Pandora, Hype Machine, and all my favorites via my iPhone. I've tried the Belkin tape adapter, and this one is much better.
