I have tried all the sport headphones that I know of on the market. I'm an audiophile who goes to the gym 4x a week and runs 30-35 miles a week outside.

I had the Livestrong version of these, which were fantastic until a little over a year in, the plastic started peeling off the controls. So I got these as a replacement from Monster.

I am now on my 3rd set of these. The controls have lasted TWO WEEKS before ceasing to function. I have replaced my iPod twice thinking that was the issue. I have a work iPhone 5 and a personal iPhone 4S, neither work properly with the headphones. Feedback also starts in on the left earbud on both of my last sets.

That set, for working out, there isn't a better sounding headphone out there. I've tried:

Yurbuds (tin cans)
Bose iE2 (didn't like the fit)
Bluebuds X (doesn't stay in for long runs)
Klipsch (sound wasn't worth $)

These headphones fit like a glove. I mean I never even have to adjust them for a 12 mile run. They sound awesome for a sport headphone. I use Bowers & Wilkins C5's if I'm not working out.

The plastic parts look spraypainted and cheap. The controls wear out in weeks. Monster... you poured a lot of money into the R&D and fit... why would you skimp on quality control???

The BEST sounding, BEST fitting, LEAST reliable sport headphone that I've found out there.

I've reviewed numerous in-ear headphones over the last year, but the two that most closely relate to the new Monster iSport Victory are the Monster iSport Immersion and the Klipsch Image S4A. Essentially the Victory is the successor to the Immersion model, and I will not repeat a lot of the overlapping features (see my Immersion review for more details).

As for design, the Victory has the angled headphones that have the basic shape of the Immersion with the angled design of the Image S4A. Both the ear-caps and the hooks are slightly different that on the Immersion. I wound up taking the hooks off of the Immersion because I found them uncomfortable. The hooks on the Victory are even bigger, and I could not insert the earbuds in my ear fully with the hooks attached. I can't imagine trying to wear them and achieving any level of comfort. The good news is that the ear-caps are a little bigger on the Victory. I switched to the largest set, and I was able to both get a good seal and a secure fit. I ran high speed, high intensity intervals (topping at 10 mph), but the headphones never threatened to come out. The only disappointment I have with the design is tangles. Despite having the "linguini" style flat chord, these headphones wound up a knotted mess both putting them in my pocket and in my gym bag. I did nothing different with these than I do any other headphones. Since there are both plusses and minuses for the Victory, I call design a draw.

I have now purchased the Isport Immersion, and this model the Isport Victory. If you are debating between the two, definitely get the Isport Victory. They are priced higher than the Immersion, but for the extra $20 or so you get a much better product. Here's why.

Just as a note to anyone purchasing these headphones be careful with the "L" angle headphone jack. When removing the jack from devices, and while the jack is inserted, use care. With my Isport Immersions I was not careful and this "L" jack and it wore over time, and now internal cables are exposed right where the rubber meets the "L" 90° angle.

The Isport victory's mounts for your ear, attach to the actual in ear device much better, they are completely rubber, as opposed to a hard plastic and there is a guide on the in ear device that helps align and keep the mounts in place. With the Isport immersion this is a hard plastic that just clips on and can easily pop off and get lost. (When taking the headphones out of carrying case they came with I noticed several times where this hard plastic on the Isport Immersion would pop off, and they are very easy to lose)

The inline mic and buttons toggle much better and smoother.

Very comfortable even after extended use

Play with the earpieces and find the right fit.

I can't say that there is a difference in sounds quality, but the construction of the victory will save you the hassles of losing any pieces.

As long as you take care of these headphones they are hands down the best sport headphones on the market at a competitive price. (Regardless $150 is a lot for headphones but you get what you pay for. Just be sure to be mindful of the "L" angled jack!

Finding a decent set of headphones can be a daunting process, one which can drive a casual listener or a discerning audiophile batty weeding through all of those on the market today. It's a process where one can spend hours reading through reviews, or possibly get kicked out of a store after driving a sales rep nuts while trying them out.

Almost passed on this Monster iSport Victory Headphone set when it showed up as an Amazon Vine selection but am now quite glad that I didn't, because these have turned out to be among the best that I've had occasion to use... period.

But first the general likes and dislikes, for those who need to know...

◆ Pros:

+ Excellent sound; rich bass and high, clear trebles
+ Exceptionally comfortable; can be worn for hours
+ Complete noise isolation; good for private listening
+ Easily accessible controls; located on the left cord
+ Customization for the user; many different ear tips
+ Tangle-free flat cord; keeps it easy in use
+ Right-angle jack; moves freely with the cord
+ Lightweight yet sturdy; good strain relief on key areas
+ Comes with clasp pouch case; keeps headphones well protected
+ Washable tips; antimicrobial agent cuts down on germs

◆ Cons:

- Maybe the lime-green color, but that's a highly subjective stretch

◆ First Impressions:

These headphones arrived in one of the most elaborate boxes that I've seen in awhile, one that made this reviewer and listener hope that they would live up to the standards of the packaging. Putting it simply, they did, and without any of that deplorable clam-shell material.
