3.0 out of 5 stars Life in Monsterville is Dullsville
My daughter is 8. We haven't seen Monsters Inc. yet, however, we have been fans of the original LIFE game and thought this might be interesting...as the commercials really depict it as loads of fun. My daughter is 8. We haven't seen Monsters Inc. yet, however, we have been fans of the original LIFE game and thought this might be interesting...as the commercials really depict it as loads of fun. It WAS interesting the first time we played it. The game is not as detailed as the original LIFE. There is a minimal amount of money to deal with (only 100 and 500 dollar bills) and there are no spaces on the board with instructions as in the original Life..there are cards to choose different things like which Career, House, Pet, etc...you will get in your monster life. There is no "betting on the wheel" or chances to obtain a share of another player's windfall. One good thing was there were no little plastic "people" to constantly fall out of the cars! This game allows a maximum of only 4 players at a time as well (didn't the original allow more?). I think really little kids who get bored with the "Life challenges" on the original game would enjoy this...maybe ages 4 through 7. Get this game only if you can get it on sale....

This game was a gift to me. I wasn't expecting it to be like the real life, but I think It could of been a whole lot better. The game Is great for little kids but I don't recommended it for teens or adults . So if you are a parent or friend buying a gift for a teen dont get this game, unless they are babysitters that could take the game to play it with little kids(or are big brothers/sisters).
