My second grader was rolling along just fine with Monsters v Aliens for the DS...quite enjoying it actually. That is until he got to the level where there is a progression of puzzles where you (Dr. Cockroach) need to reflect a cannon shot fired into a grid to bounce off various reflector points in the grid, and the shot must pass through a number of green dots in the grid without running into an obstacle or running through a red dot.

Well the game is rated E, but my 8 year old had a very hard time with this level of puzzles. So he came to his brilliant Dad for some help. After relatively easily getting through the first few puzzles in the progression, I got to like the 4th or 5th puzzle in the progression (the puzzle where you can use a T to split the shot in two). And after (too) much time, I found this particular puzzle in the level to be unsolvable....That is until I was contacted by someone who read my review here at Amazon and politely pointed me to a mistake that I was making in my attempt to solve the puzzle.

I guess that I am not smarter than a second grader.

While my mistake was a silly one, this level is still challenging for a second grader. But with a little help perhaps from an adult (one that's smarter than me...shouldn't be too hard)--or older brother or sister--getting through the game shouldn't be too difficult. In fact, my son is back to having a lot of fun with Monsters v Aliens for the DS now that we've navigated our way through Dr. Cockroach's puzzles.

My kids have proclaimed the Monsters v Aliens movie to be the best animated film that they've ever seen. Nice to see that they're having a lot of fun with a game adaptation of a movie...cuz we all now how that goes most of the time.

Couldn't find this game anywhere, but on amazon. I purchased it for a family member for Christmas and he loved it!

I bought this game as a Christmas gift for a grandchild. It arrived quickly-plenty of time for Christmas Eve and arrived in good shape.

My 6 yr old son just got a DS for his birthday and we rented monsters vs aliens to try it out - we can't even get past the first few minutes!!! It's impossible if you are a normal human! This game [...] BIG TIME.
