A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble

I really don't know what to say, so I'll keep this short. There is more creativity on this than I've heard in ages. It reminds me much of when I noticed myself really getting into music in the first place, when I was very young. It provokes that same feeling of wonderment without being affected or cheesy. It's really gorgeous music, through and through. I'd be quite suspicious of those who would seek to pigeonhole or dismiss such sonic splendor for 'academic' reasons of any kind. This is GOOD music. If you like music, you'll love this.

This would be worthwhile no matter what you got it for: if your a psych novice or an expert looking for new contexts and some music you might not know.


I love two things about this. The compiler uses a lot of different styles, which shows me he has a view of music that embraces it of a piece, and second, it is always amazing to compare what is in a rock stars collection to yours.


There is also a mix that compiles samples from all this music and it is pretty courageous: dark psych into folk into deep funk. NO REGARD FOR GENRE

I bought this cd compilation after hearing Noel Gallagher (Oasis) rave about how good it was, and I must say, I believe he is right! This is a great cd compilation if you're looking for a good mix to hang out to w/ great pyschedelic-ish songs.
