Product Description

The MontBell U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #2 25 Degree Down Sleeping Bag provides warmth in sub-freezing temps at an incredibly low 1lb 12oz. Though it weighs less than your 1L bottle of water, this 800-fill down sleeping bag uses stretch stitching to hug your body and eliminate dead air space. Multi-Box baffle construction ensures the Super Stretch Hugger Sleeping Bag has no cold spots, and its bottom eight-inch baffle seals to fit smaller users. This down mummy bag's warmth to weight ratio make it ideal for three season backpacking or rock climbing trips.

One of the best sleeping bags ever made. Unfortunately, they discontinued it and the #2 SKU in the new series. I am a cold sleeper, and when a #3 would keep most people warm to 30 degrees (with 10 oz of 800 down) I need that extra 4 oz of down for a total of 14 oz 800 down (equal to 16 oz of 650 Down).

The New Mont-Bell line combines the UL Super Stretch Down Hugger stretchy technology with the weight savings and Spiral stretchy technology of the UL Spiral Down Hugger line to make.... the Ultralight Super Spiral Down Hugger Series (takes breath). But they have not (and will not?) made the #2, #4 and #7's in the new lines (25, 35 and 50 degree bags).

If you can get your hands on one of these UL Super Stretch DH #2's grab it. Mine weighs only 27.7 ounces, fits my fat frame (5'7" 210#) and is very warm.

You can't go wrong with a Mont-Bell bag, I would rank them up there in the first tier with Western Mountaineering, Nunatak and Valandre.

Warm, light and room to move September 22, 2009
My old synthetic mummy bags were always warm enough but very constricting and heavy. My husband and I recently completed a month long trek in the Sierra Nevadas and both of us used this bag. Several things I want to point out about this bag. The "hugger" stretch system used by MontBell is fabulous. You'll never know you are sleeping in a mummy bag. You can bend your knees, sleep on your side, move around etc. with great freedom. The hood and neck baffle work very well with this bag. Even though I use a small down pillow, the hood stayed with me through the night (thus keeping me warmer) and the neck baffle really does help keep heat in. Warmth is, of course, a subjective thing, but we were never cold in these bags; even on cold and rainy nights at high altitude. Finally, these bags are just plain comfortable. This bag was my "bed" for a month and I was always glad to climb in after a long day of hiking... knowing I was going to be comfortable and warm. Add all of these benefits into a super-light, small stuff sack and you have a WINNER of a sleeping bag! We love our bags.

Mont Bell #2 Huger April 5, 2009
Color Name:Regular| Size Name:Left Zip|Amazon Verified Purchase
I wanted a bag that was warm and had more room. This bag fits the bill perfectly. Lightweight construction feels a little more delicate that my last bag (Marmot Pinnacle 15) but at half the weight its awesome. It is amazing how much more room you fell inside. I wish they made their new spiral hugger with a left hand zipper. I would have bought that one. Now I want to buy one of their lightweight down jackets. Mont Bell is great.
