About the Author

Dan Cushman is the author of over thirty novels. His best seller, Stay Away, Joe, was a Book-of-the-Month Club selection and the basis for the Broadway musical, Whoop-Up. It also became an MGM motion picture starring Elvis Presley. He has also authored several pieces of non-fiction which include Montana-The Gold Frontier and The Great North Trail. His awards include the Western Writers of America Spur Award for his novel The Silver Mountain and the H.G.Merriam Award for distinguished contributions to Montana literature. He has also received the Governors Humanities Award from the Montana Committee for the Humanities. Mr. Cushman currently resides in Great Falls, Montana.
