This is the pen I've been waiting for for Forty years! The feel, the writeing abelity and the fact that in 40 seconds you can change it to a rollerball pen with many size points and colours available,to me makes it the perfect writeing insturment. The fineliner tip comes with a cap so it will not dry out or leak in your bag. If you find the need to change tips. It feels a little big for about the first 10 words then your hand adjusts and you wonder how on earth you were ever able to write with the swizzle stiks you've been useing? It truly is the best pen I have ever owned and, being retired and old only god knows how many pens that is. I dont let anyone else use it, not even my grandson, or my son. I'm waiting for my next check and buying the Fountain Pen. It is so easy to write with that I'm even thinking about sending some snail mail and, I'm looking forward to Christmas cards. It is NOT a PEN for the "Thrifty" but if you know someone that is capeable of appriceating it, they will remember you, every time they pick it up or, take it from their pocket.

I had a classic MB ballpoint pen for 20 years and it disappeared one day (I think my son got it) I bought a grande ballpoint and I loved it till I lost it. People mention that they doubt the quality of these pens because the resin can crack. These pens are made very well and will last forever if you take care of them. High quality and un-breakable are two different things. If you drop it on cement, it will crack!

I recently decided I can't deal with cheap disposable pens anymore. I decided to buy a starwalker fineliner/rollerball. I I never realized the amount of fakes out there (even on amazon). Being totally paranoid I figured it would be best to buy straight from MB. I went to the local jeweler to feel the pen and, lucky me they were closing them out and had 25% off. I wanted a resin/gold ballpoint and ended up with a resin/ platinum fineliner. WELCOME HOME! Feels wonderful, looks beautiful and the fit and finish are exquisite. I put a rollerball refill in it and writes like a million bucks. Perfect weight, perfect balance.

MY PEN IS MY SWORD.

I purchased this pen less than 1 year ago from another dealer. Within 9 months, the cap wouldn't fit onto the body of the pen. Like another reviewer for a similar model, it turns out that a metal pen body and cheap plastic threads on the cap do not match! The cap threads wore out and I returned to MontBlanc for service. The charge to repair was $170! I pushed and the price dropped to $90. I pushed and they said they would repair it for free and advised that I not tighten the pen too tight. Love the look of the pen but would probably not purchase again.

this is a great pen. when it's in your pocket it's understated, but when you take it out people notice it. it's platinum which is much better than gold, which is cheesy and sooo 80's. the cap unscrews to come off, and screws onto the back. this is a great feature since none of the other pens that mont blanc makes don't do this. also, it's counter weights the pen very well.

it is well worth the money, and if you take care of it, will last for a long, long time. keep refills handy, as once you start to use this, you will never want to use an ordinary pen when the ink runs out.
