4.0 out of 5 stars Great fan for small spaces.
When you have a room where a conventional ceiling fan doesn't fit, this is good substitute.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good litte fan, Frustrating Installation, August 4, 2008
This review is from: Monte Carlo 3TF24WH Micro 24, 24-Inch 3-Blade, Ceiling Fan, Damp Location, White Motor Finish and White Blades (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a good product that delivers what it promises. Even at lower speeds, there is considerable air circulation in a 200 sq. ft. room.

The fan is solidly constructed with quality metal parts throughout. It feels substantial.

Trouble started when it came to installing the blades. The compact nature of the fan requires you to mount the fan blades only after installing the main body to the ceiling. So have to be some sort of acrobat to get underneath it, hold the blade with the balancing weight so that the pre-drilled screw holes are aligned -- after sliding both peices in from the side, not the bottom. Then you have to hold the blade and weight steady in one hand while simultaneously screwing in the screw the driver/drill upside-down with the other hand. I had to go away from the directions and improvise. And you have to do this 3 times (one time for each blade)!

I've installed dozens of ceiling fans and this one was going swimmingly up until the blade installation. I would say on average, I can install a larger fan in about 30 minutes--45 minutes on the high side. This took about 2 hours after finally landing on an improvised routine to get the blades in.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fan for small spaces., June 29, 2009
When you have a room where a conventional ceiling fan doesn't fit, this is good substitute.

When you're directly underneath, the airflow is very good. However, when you aren't, the breeze isn't nearly as noticable. For a large room, I wouldn't bother.

The fan is small enough to fit in a hallway; we ended up mounting ours in close proximity to our hanging pot rack (there was no other fan that would make both usable at the same time) and we were pleased.

Installation was a bit of a pain: the wires leading from the motor were about eight feet long and had to be cut. The manual indicated that I should be able to mount the top and have the rest on the ground with wires hanging down and have room to work, but that's a dream. Plus I had to trim the wires to get them to fit in the casing. Another obvious con is that the instructions weren't written well at all, which is surprising because Monte Carlo is a great company. Lots of pictures do not make for clear directions.

The fan is almost directly over our kitchen table, and when leaves were taken out to seat eight, everyone felt a nice breeze.

The fan is quiet too -- even on the highest setting. I was worried that the light kit wouldn't be bright enough (read: candelabra bulbs) as I use fluorescents whenever I can, but I didn't have any issues at all. I'm really pleased with this fan.

The bottom line is when the situation calls for it, this fan is excellent. It would be great in a bathroom or a wide hallway, but if another fan will work, don't pick this one up.

Incidently, we got ours from Lowe's for $70, and it included the light kit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love These Fans, July 19, 2010
I bought this same with an included light kit at Lowes for about $130 I think. I have a very small galley type kitchen and with a regular fan every time I opened my cabinet it hit the fan blades.. Uuugh. So this little midget fan was perfect for the space.

I already had a fan hooked up, so it was very simple to take the old fan down and replace it with this one. The directions probably aren't the best but I had already watched a youtube video concering how to replace a fan so it was actually pretty easy. you can hang the fan on the bracket before actually connecting all the wires so you don't need to have anyone holding the fan or helping. The wires are long so you'll need to trim them down a lot unless for some reason you need like 8 foot worth of wires.

The air output on this was pretty surprising to me. It gives a lot of air for its size. I have to turn it down to low when I cook otherwise it sometimes blows out one of the burners on my gas stove but the air will mostly move straight down in a pretty small area. Obviously a larger fan will likely give you a better airflow over a larger area but if you have a small space, hallway, or size limitations due to cabinets etc, like I did, then this may be perfect for you. (I do suggest going with a lighting kit though)

3.0 out of 5 stars A DEVIL TO INSTALL, July 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Monte Carlo 3TF24WH Micro 24, 24-Inch 3-Blade, Ceiling Fan, Damp Location, White Motor Finish and White Blades (Tools & Home Improvement)
PRO's: size fit in my small kitchen and it really moves the air, quiet

CON's: very poor installation instructions, very difficult to assemble, finally gave up trying to balance the fan so it didn't wobble

CAUTION's: you might want to check the electrical box if you plan to install it in an existing fixture. My vintage condo had a small pancake box which necesitated about $200 worth of electrical work. I bought this with a Monte Carlo light kit, and between the purchase cost and installation problems with it and the fan, I ended up with a $572.81 fan and light. In spite of it all, I'm glad I have it and recommended it to a neighbor of mine

2.0 out of 5 stars Too small, June 14, 2009

I ordered this fan for a very small bedroom but it is too small to circulate the air, I am ordering a 30 inch and returning this one. I imagine it would work well in a bathroom but not for rooms even slightly bigger than your average bathroom size.

I got this fan for my son's room. He has a small room and this fan keeps the air circulating perfectly. It is sleek and I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Seems to be well made. Looks great and moves a large amount of air for it's size. Should last me many years in my bathroom.

I needed a small fan to replace the old one in my hallway. I looked at every store in my area - none were small enough. I ordered this one on "prime" shipping and it arrived less than 24 hrs after I placed the order! I had my contractor install it, and he had no problem whatsoever. It looks great, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatness!, October 3, 2011

I purchased this fan to go in my bathroom during a recent remodel. My contractor thought I was nuts to try and fit a ceiling fan into my small bathroom (approx. 10 ft by 10ft). However, after he installed it he kept going on and on about how perfect it was for the space. This was one of my favorite updates during this remodel.

The size is just perfect for a small space. I was worried that it would just fill the space and dominate the room, but it doesn't at all. Do not hesitate to get this fan. FYI, there is an option that is not listed in the details to install the fan with no downrod whatsoever. I went with that option and it is perfect for my 8 ft ceiling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really nifty little unit!, September 4, 2011

Yeah, I know, "that's what she said." But seriously now... The only hassle we had during installation was having to change the plastic wiring box in the ceiling to a metal one, which is code here for ceiling fans. That required crawling through nasty blown insulation in the sweltering heat. But I didn't have to do it so...whatever.

We're really, really happy with this fan! It's super-quiet. The only time you really hear any noise is when it's on the fastest speed, and that's only the noise of the air moving. The motor itself is silent and there is zero wobble in the fan. Also, every other review you read about this model moving more air than you'd think? Totally true. We have it flush mounted in a master bedroom that's only about 12 x 14 and we don't even need to run it full speed to move the air around.

We bought the wall-mount/hand-held remote control for this but are returning it because we never could make it work with the fan. No biggy - after using the fan for a couple of weeks now we've realized we don't really need one more remote on the side table and a wall switch will do just fine for us.

Amazon shipped this puppy quickly and it was very well packaged. It arrived safe and sound without a single scratch, nick, or dent, so - yay - makes our lives that much easier, right?
