Very Nice Fan For The Price,
This review is from: Monte Carlo 5DI52RBD-L Discus 52-Inch 5-Blade Ceiling Fan with Light Kit, Roman Bronze (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is an excellent fan for the price. The installation was very straight forward and simple, all the pieces fit together properly, an indication of quality. That is a good thing because the directions weren't all that great. Once nice thing is that they included a bag of extra screws, in case you lose one during install. And wouldn't you know it, I dropped a screw and lost it. Luckily, I had the bag of extra parts! One important thing to point out. With most ceiling fans, the stem that attaches the fan to the ceiling is optional. That's not the case with this fan. If you want to mount your ceiling fan flush with the ceiling, this is not the fan for you. Once it was installed, I was impressed with how quiet it is and how it looks like it cost much more than I paid. Overall, very good value.

Maybe I missed this note somewhere, but we were NOT prepared for this fan to arrive in about 400 different pieces. Every other fan we've purchased had the motor assembled, but needed to be hung/installed and the blades attached. Not this one. Literally everything was disassembled, we had to wire the thing. It took (two working adults w/ a kid) three days to assemble it and get it hung. The instructions were good. I'll say that. We're neither electricians or engineers, and it wasn't HARD, per se ... just involved. It looks nice enough - for the price, it certainly meets expectations. We would have like a very modern, classy fan - but didn't want to spend $400-500 on it. So this will more than suffice. It's quiet, looks exactly like the picture, runs well. The light is weird, doesn't take standard bulbs - but is fine.

Great fan. Uses a 1/2 inch downrod. The standard downrod size now is 3/4 inch. Keep this in mind if you want to purchase a longer downrod than what is supplied, as you will not be able to purchase at Home Depot/Lowes.

This ceiling fan replaced a Hunter fan that was using a swag kit. A electrician installed it and permanently wired it above the ceiling and also installed a remote switch that has a built in dimmer for the light and fan control. The medium setting on this fan is almost equivalent to the high on the Hunter fan it replaced. All I can say is the fan is quiet and the light is all that is needed for the entire bedroom. The fan looks and performs better than more expensive ones that I looked at at in person at the chain home improvement stores.

This is a great fan. We were looking at a couple different ones, for a few different rooms in our new home. I wanted one that would match the colors we have in the living room, without standing out. I HATE fans that make noise...so it's rare that I will buy one without seeing it.I'm glad I did! This was easy to put together (provided you read the clear instructions)and it completely, and instantly, cools the room. The light is good too. I didn't want something REALLY bright- but not dull either.. this fan works out great. Our fan does wobble slightly- but really really slightly.. and my boyfriend says he thinks that is actually his fault, we just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. The only thing I wish this fan had is a remote. We leave the setting on high, because that's what it was one when we first put it up. We cant easily reach it- so a remote would be handy. All in all- a great buy at a great price.

This fan is absolutely awesome!! It was fairly easy to install and looks amazing. The halogen light in the fan gives off the perfect amount of light for our family room and uses very little electricity. The fan is very quiet when in use and does not wobble in the least bit. I highly recommend this fan...A++.

We have had this fan for about 6-9 months now and it looks and works great in our master bedroom.I would buy it again if I needed a fan in this style. It was fairly easy to install (though my husband is mrfixit) we have had no issues at all.

This fan was not a pain to install for us at all. After having to install the Hunter fan in the other room the week before and dealing with that pita, this one was a breeze in comparison. We installed the remote so there was extra wiring to take care of but all in all, it was an event-less process. After it was installed, we thought something was wrong because the highest fan setting was still sloooow. But we realized that the fan had to be on the highest setting (we had pulled the chain a couple times before and forgot it). But the instructions to tell you about this and we corrected the problem. We love how this fan looks on our living room ceiling. Very sexy. :) |
