This map was very disappointing. It only includes the area north and west of Chalten to just west of the major peaks. We're planning on doing a circuit from Paso Marconi to Paso del Viento and this map doesn't show any of the area. Also the trekking route to L Toro is not included on the map. This map is only printed on one side so its kind of a waste of paper Far better is the South Patagonia Icefield Map which contains 6 times as much information in the same amount of space and the same scale.

Some comments read here about this item are competely mistaken. They expect from "Monte Fitz Roy Map" the contents of "Patagonian South Icefield Map". The map referred in this item is a very popular map among visitors to El Chalten area in southern Patagonia. It covers all the usual trails 99% of the travelers walk. Instead, "Patagonian South Icefield Map" is another item that covers this classic area plus a lot more, specifically the North, South and West of El Chalten area. The publishers have additionally a third map in the same 1:50.000 scale that is smaller in size. All of them have a precise use and all of them are famous and traditional for Monte Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre visits. Amazon customer comments must be more carefully examined before publishing to avoid giving wrong messages to prospective buyers.

This map represents only a small portion of this region. The details are good and the readability is acceptable, however the region supposedly discussed is far larger than the map. A terrible waste of paper (especially since it is only printed on one side!) I just cannot imagine what was the thinking behind this design - anyone going to this area needs the entire picture. It is virtually useless.
