Jazz musician and composer Terence Blanchard was born in New Orleans in 1962. He is best known for his African-fusion style trumpet playing, and the film scores he has written.

I was fortunate enough to attend the Monterey Jazz Festival in 2007 and hear this group live. This is certainly a great combination of talents: vocalist Nnenna Freelon, trumpeter Terence Blanchard, saxophonist James Moody and pianist Benny Green. This is a good compilation of jazz as well: a little bebop, some West coast cool jazz and some vocal standards. Because this was a live performance, you get to hear full length performances in all their glory. It's not as good as being there, but it's close.

It's a great band with top music with the Monterey Musical Director Benny Green who is maybe the best pianist after Oscar Peterson
