This review is from: Montessori for the New Millennium: Practical Guidance on the Teaching and Education of Children of All Ages, Based on A Rediscovery of the True Principles and Vision of Maria Montessori (Hardcover)
This is an essential companion to Maria Montessori's books. Roland A. Lubienksi Wentworth was a contemporary of Montessori and knew her well. Not only did he understand Montessori theory and practice, but he also developed some of his own unique materials. The book explains Montessori theory very well and gives many practical applications. After reading the book I not only felt more comfortable teaching in my own Montessori classroom, but I felt confident that I could expand and develop my own Montessori materials. The book helped me see beyond the pink tower and golden beads to the backbone of the philosopy. This is a "must read" for anyone interested in teaching the Montessori way.
