I am left handed. Using any pen or pencil has always been difficult. I used to write with an inverted hand (overwriting), but found that my hand would drag through the ink making a mess of the paper and of my hand. For many years now, I have been writing in a more proper position (underwriting), which kept my had out of the ink, but resulted in my having poor control of the pen. My penmanship deteriorated so much over the years that I could not read my writing. a

The Monteverde Grafica is a wonderful pen. It is well balanced and has a large diameter. The pen fits perfectly in the hand, so that I am forced to use a proper writing position. My penmanship greatly improved almost immediately. The Grafica pencil also fits perfectly, and helps to improve my writing. It is unfortunate that this model is being discontinued. I am going to order a few more pens and pencils, so that I have some on hand.
