This book is valuable for people new to this geographic area. It gives specific gardening tasks for each month. Being new to the area, I found this to be an indispensible resource.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Buying December 4, 2008
By Kat J
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I like the month by month outlines - they are really plans of attack and help organize you for the month. The only reasons I did not give it 5 stars is that although having a different section for lawns, shrubs, trees seems useful to see how the whole year pans out, it makes it hard to quickly open up the book to "November" and get a checklist for the month - you have to go section by section and find all the Novembers. It is also definitely more a book for maintaining rather than selecting plants. Definitely worth having for reference.
