4.0 out of 5 stars Not just for Hanukkah, January 5, 2012
One of the promotional quotes for "In the Month of Kislev" says that it is "not a story just for Hanukkah, but for all year long." I find this to be true. This book is an enjoyable and clever story about the value of charity and humility. This book is not an explanation of all things Hanukkah, but it would serve well to supplement the Hanukkah education of non-Jewish children. Children and adults alike will find the resolution of the plot both humorous and satisfying. I recommend this book to everyone, and especially to Christians who would like for their children to have a little better appreciation of another religion's winter-time holiday.
