Want Some REAL music? Here it is,
This review is from: Mood Muzik 3: The Album (Audio CD)
Listen to Hiatus and tell me this guy don't have the skills rappers these days wish they had. Seriously with all this wack stuff from crappy pop rap songs and lil wayne annoying voice on everyone's track it's nice to here some real stuff.
This is what rap was, real music. This man doesn't need millions to keep spitting real stuff. From Party songs to true music, he does it all. Don't sleep on Joe cause he's seriously one of the only ones i can even listen to these days.

not your average joe,
This review is from: Mood Muzik 3: The Album (Audio CD)
This album is complete fire. He is going so hard on EVERY track. If you are looking for raps about jewelry, women, and selling drugs, this is not for you. He is sooo real. For example, on 'All of Me' (my favorite track) he talks about the ups and downs about having a record deal, death of a friend, and beef with Ransom...This album isn't called Mood Muzik for nothing. It really gets you in a mood, the mood to just mellow out and vibe with Joey. It is unfortunate that he will not get the publicity or record sales that this deserves. I hate to see talent like this go unrewarded. Please buy this album, you won't be disappointed.

There are not many rappers, or other Music Artists for that matter who stay consistent, But one thing that Joe Budden has for him is his Amazing Talent at the Mic. Everything he releases weither it's his mixtape series, or various tracks and snippets here and there, regardless he never disappoints.
The only thing really disappointing in this Future Legend's career is that without a solid "commercial hit" his venue stays outside the line and onto the underground, & to be honest... I wouldn't have it any other way!! To make things short this mixtape/Album is nothing short of a Classic, Bar none NO ONE in the rap game can hold a flame to this Monster on the mic, Quote me.

Classic Mixtape...Great Album,
By
This review is from: Mood Muzik 3: The Album (Audio CD)
The best mixtape of 2008 gets the album treatment. I may not be the most qualified person to speak about the best mixtape of 2008 given the fact I haven't been listening to too many mixtapes this year. But its hard to imagine any mixtape that could match the quality of material that is found in Mood Muzik III.
A warning to the unfamiliar though, this is not what you are used to hearing. MM3 is 78 minutes of lyrical molestation. Joe is an absolute beast on the mic and he is not concerned with song structures, choruses or catering to the clubs, radio or critics, Joe's sole motivation appears to be MC murder. On `All Of Me' Joe goes on a marathon tirade, the track eventually fades out in the middle of his verse at the 8 minute mark (hardly no chorus!). However Joe is not just a punchline artist, although he shows he is no slouch either as he trades metaphors with Joell Ortiz on `Warfare'. The best material on the this disc though is when he displays his storytelling abilities and there is no better example of this than `Secrets'. On `Secrets' Joe weaves an intricate tale, over the 6 minute, chorus free track, with an amazing attention to detail and off course a twist at the end. Long time fans will know that his repertoire is packed with such songs (there's an idea for a mixtape - Joe Budden's bed time stories...lol). What sets Joe apart is that he is 100% real and by this I mean he is not concerned with proving how fly, gutter, bossy or hot he is. He is eager to prove his skills on the mic and that's it! He has no insecurities so he doesn't mind letting the world know that he has weaknesses & vulnerabilities. MM3 is full of honest outtakes regarding his baby mama drama, beef within his camp, major label disappointments and the state of hip-hop. And all that is just in the 1st track `Dear Diary'. Mood Muzik is not just a cool title, it describes the dark, moody content of the album. Although there are a few uplifting moments scattered throughout (e.g. `Star Inside Of Me') the theme is definitely a downer ("life is like a beach chair when you can afford it"- `Long Way To Go'). Musically, Joe takes full advantage of his independent status as the album features numerous, obviously uncleared, samples that ensure a certain overall quality. The group of lesser known producers do a brilliant job given the tools at hand. I shudder to think what might have happened if they were let loose in a major studio. Finally, Joe pays a heavy price for not conforming to the hip-hop norms, there will be no platinum plaques or endorsement deals following this release but he gets respect for taking a stand for the dying art-form. Call it adult contemporary hip-hop which translates to respect without success (finance if you prefer).

Joe Budden returns with his 3rd installment of his Mood Muzik series, this is unfortunatlely the only 1 I have, but this is another classic. This is the 3rd album/mixtape of his I own, his debut and his "Album Before the Album" are both great 4.5 star albums and this one tops them and is a classic 5 star album. Why he didn't get big sales I'll never understand, he speaks the truth, deep thoughts and real lyrics with a tight flow and unique voice on alll his tracks and he tears them up as well. On this one you get 16 songs, 3 are classics, 2 are almost classic material, 3 are ok, and the rest are good or real good songs. Guests are minimal, rapping on only 2 songs and few do hooks. Production is tight as well. The Klasix do 8 songs. WMS Sultan does 2 and Mellow Madness, Skatek, Ryan Lugo, Soul Serchin, Dub B, and Wyks all do 1 song. A must have from one of the best to do it on the M-I-C.

Solid Album from a Versatile Artist,

This review is from: Mood Muzik 3: The Album (Audio CD)
This is an excellent album with thoughtful lyrics, substance, and depth. This album follows from Mood Muzik 1 & 2 and follows from Joe Budden's release from Def Jam. A lot of the music is venting music, but for listeners who enjoy paying attention to music and getting something new from it each time you listen to it Mood Muzik 3 will keep you interested. Budden delivers excellent punchlines and intertwines much of his music with relevant sports analogies and allusions to current events. Most importantly, in Mood Muzik 3 Joe Budden infuses his trademark emotion into every song and that creates a memorable production.
Favorite tracks: 1) All Of Me 2) Dear Diary 3) Still My Hood 4) Warfare feat. Joell Ortiz 5) Secrets

Another Gem,

Joe Budden drop another gem with the 3rd installment in the mood muzik series. This is not lil wayne spitting a bunch of nonsensical bars, Joe budden get in depth with his lyrics. He is a last of a dying breed in hip hop and goes under the radar but the real recognize the talent.

Joey Jumpoff has to be in the top five artist alive right now. That list gets a lil blurry after him, Lil Wayne and Andre 3000 but thats another conversation. The wordplay he uses flows so well inbetween club bounce and intelligent its a pleasure to listen to his WHOLE CD. Thats hard to say about 98% of the artist in the game period. His only problem ends up being his beat selection hurts him in the end, just like Canibus. This CD is easily a classic and its only a mixtape but some of the beats end up taking away from his vocals, just like his first major release on Def Jam and most of his other mixtapes. They sound forced like someone put them together in 5 min and though not terrible, not up to his incredible diction. Theres no inbetween for this CD though because when he does have a good beat, it sounds like Timbaland, Kanye, or Dre gave it to him. You will love this CD if you like Joe Bezzy!
Best Tracks 1. Dear Diary 5. Unforgiven 6. All or Me 10. Warfare f/ Joell Ortiz 11. Roll Call 12. Secrets 13. Send Him Our Love 16. 4 Walls
