Still One of the Greatest!, October 13, 2009

I own both an early '70s Mini and the Voyager. They are both great, and they are both different. In a way, they shouldn't be compared. The older one is a bit grittier, and maybe a bit fatter. The new sounds a little tamer, but is still nice and fat. Sometimes, the "tameness" allows it to sit in the mix a bit better - depending of course on what you're doing. Also, the Voyager offers quite a bit more modulation capabilities, and of course, it stays in tune better. If you don't mind spending the money, get both. If you only want one, the Voyager is probably a bit more versatile.
