Believe it!,
I am a professional hairdresser. I know how much nicer waxing is than shaving...but wax is so messy. Especially if you aren't at a salon and don't have all the same tools at home.
I also have a microwave wax kit and it is no where near as awesome as this! Yes, waxing gets the job done but a microwave kit means reheating over and over, uneven application, and messy sticky countertops and legs. With MOOM I have none of that! The temperature of MOOM stays consistent for much longer than microwave wax, and glides on very thinly. I did both of my legs and there is still so much product in the jar I can probably do them 20 more times! Amazing. It really gets all the little hairs just like waxing. Except when I was done I wiped off the counters and my legs and was good to go. No residue!!! I washed the strips and laid them flat to dry. I think MOOM hurts less than waxing because the consistency is finer, goes on more evenly, and gives you a better "pull." There aren't any leftover bits on your body to keep rolling over. If you do need to go over a spot, it doesn't take a layer of skin with it like wax. MOOM, where have you been all my life? :) -Courtney D

I Don't Use Any Other Product for My Hair Removal!,
By
This review is from: Moom Organic Hair Removal Kit, Tea Tree, 6-Ounce Package (Health and Beauty)
Before trying this product, I was using another famous brand (Nads) and was very happy about it. One day I ordered this Moom Hair Removal because I needed to order some more to get "free shipping" ordering online. I think I just liked the name and color, and I was just curious also.
Obviously, there are differences between this and another product. This one is less sticky and easier to clean up after. Especially when the wax was on the skin, wiping off was harder with the other product. Also, when I wash the wax off the cotton sheet that is used for hair removal, the wax comes off easier than the other products. Another important difference is that removing hair with this product is less painful than using the other product. Since then I never look back. I don't expect that there is any better product on this planet for hair removal with this price. If your room is very warm you don't have to heat the wax before using it. I live in a tropical city (Miami, Florida) so I never heat it.

Sweet and Easy!,

All the good things written about this product were true for me. I have some tough facial fur and was introduced to waxing quite late in life. When your close-up vision is going you don't want to be spreading heavy wax around your eyes! Wax also used to leave my skin red and irritated for hours, even when done by a professional.
I thought this product might be too messy, and not strong enough for me, but was wrong on both counts. The instructions say not to warm it for the face, but you can still spread it fairly thin. It's painless and gets ALL the hair. I simply rinse the cloth strips and the applicators out in the sink after rinsing my skin. Moom does not irritate my skin at all. In fact it leaves my face silky smooth and very soft, and I'm already finding the grow-back time to be lengthening. You really can't make a mistake with this product. At least not one that a little warm water can't take care of! It's inexpensive too. I expect this small jar will last me a very long time. Definitely worth a try!

fantastic, especially once you get the hang of it.,
By my first waxing experience in a salon was horrible - i wound up "crooked" and had to go back the next day to have it fixed after my skin had calmed down - so much for running home and surprising my boyfriend of the time. i was terribly self-conscious of my crooked vag-hawk. folks, i am of middle eastern/mediterranean descent - i am a fairly hairy girl, and the hair i'm most interested in removing resides in the bikini area. needless to say it is abundant and COARSE. i also have, sometimes, two hairs growing from one pore there. anyway... maybe TMI, but i did my first Moom last night - i might be a sick person but i actually enjoyed it so much i wound up giving myself a Brazilian - i was just amazed at how well it worked. Moom works like wax but what a joy, you can wash it right off with water and all the tools are reusable. i woke up silky smooth - no bumps, no whiteheads, and now, am just about to put the finishing touches on the job (when i said there's a learning curve, i meant it - i did NOT do a perfect job either, and going back over something twice in one go isn't so great for your skin, fantastic organic product or not - for better or for worse, this time there's no boyfriend to see my mess-up at the moment). i'm swearing to Moom now. this stuff is AWESOME.

Finally, a healthy alternative for facial hair treatment,

For years, I have dealt with a bit of unwanted facial hair, and have in the past most often used bleach or a chemical depilatory, like Nair.
I stopped using Nair about 12 years ago when it burned my skin (the skin peeled) and left a scar that I have to this day and has only gotten deeper as I've aged. With the bleach, I always have felt like I was sniffing toxic chemicals when applied to my upper lip. Never having waxed (I'm too cheap for a salon), I heard about "sugaring" and Moom, and decided, for the price, to give it a try. I can't believe how well it works. First, it doesn't hurt. Well, maybe just barely. I was terrified it would pull my skin off and even planned my first use of it to preceed a 10-day camping trip. But no problems at all - no redness, no hurt skin, no nothing - except a smooth upper lip for the first time in a long time. In terms of use, I do not have a microwave so I had to heat it on the stove in a pot of hot water which was not a problem at all. It was easy to apply. The directions instruct you to apply it warm, but not hot. They say to heat it up until the consistency of the product is that of honey. I have used it warmed to honey consistency and I have used it heated to runny honey, and actually it seems to be more effective if you heat it a bit more than they recommend - to the consistency of runny honey, that is. If you do, it will go on a little hotter so you do have to be careful that it isn't TOO hot, or it could burn your skin. Also, keep in mind I use it almost exclusively for upper lip hair, so it may be that the higher temp and runnier consistency allows the goo to adhere better to the shorter, finer hairs on the face. Also, the instructions say to apply the strip to the skin where the goo has been spread, but not to rub it vigorously or it will seep through the strip. I have actually found, after having used the product for a couple of months, that on the face, it works best if you DO rub it vigorously, and let it cool off and harden for 20-30 seconds or so before attempting to pull it off. Funny as this may sound, it is really quite rewarding to look on the little strips once you have pulled it off and see the hair you have successfully removed. One thing I really like is that your skin just washes clean when you are done, the ingredients are natural, and the strips are reusable. Plus, if it doesn't remove all the hair, just put more of the goo on the spot to which you want to remove the hair, and try again. It barely hurts so you can do it again and again in the same spot with little pain. It really does sound too good to be true, I am sure. But I couldn't be happier and am so glad I have found a solution that doesn't involve chemicals.

best way to use this product is...,

Hi, I wanted to share what I thought was a better way to use this product to get results you want. Background: I'm Middle Eastern originally, and have been using sugar wax most of my life to remove hair, however it's always easier when someone does the waxing for you, as when you do it alone it can be very messy. But I was fed up of spending so much money on getting waxed and I decided to do it myself. Usually sugar wax is used at room temperature when you just want to do basic spreading and pulling (it's a technique you have to learn through observation, then trial and error). But I liked Moom's idea of using a couple of extra tools ( spreading stick and cloths) to get the job done with less agony. And after a couple of sessions here and there, and much experience generally with sugar wax, I can say this is my favorite way to use this product: - Do not heat the wax in the Microwave as suggested by Moom, for centuries people have used sugar wax at room temperature. And I find this is best...as even when slightly heated it gets too sticky and cannot grab the hair as firmly. When at room temperature the wax can get a firmer grip of the hair without going all over the place in a messy way ( and hence is not as painful when pulling). - As opposed to spreading the wax on the hair directly (which I find can be messy and painful sometimes when the hair is slightly long), instead spread a thin layer of the wax on the cloth itself, making sure you have an area relative to that you're targeting on your body. So for bikini line, I'll spread a thin layer on the cloth, that is long and somewhat wide. I've used the smaller cloths for smaller areas. Note: it's more manageable to spread thin layer of wax on the cloth than it is on your body, especially for smaller, more sensitive areas. - When you put the waxed cloth on the body part your targeting, just tap and rub it a few times gently, making sure its in place, that also slightly warms the wax. Then wait for like 2-3 seconds (gives time for the sugar to settle) and pull with a quick firm grip. So that's basically my favorite way of using this product, less messiness, less product wasting (for both the sugar and the cloths) and MUCH less pain. Hope this helps =) Side Note: Btw I only use this for my bikini area (the whole area) and sometimes under arms, for everything else I use an epilator machine.

MOOM,
By GATITAxCHICANA (San Pancho, Califas) - See all my reviews and when I want to remove this blessing for a while, I use MOOM *obviously I've moved on from an introductory - but I didn't see the big jar. I just want everyone who's looking for wax to know that this product is tried and TRUE. and believe you me, I've tried MANY waxes - I will only endorse this and parissa pre-made regular strips. moom smells great, removes hair great, and comes off great for when you're done, and best of all, it's natural :) happy depilating, as happy a process as it can be... although the results usually are worth the pain :)

I bought this based on reviews I read on Amazon and I am extremely pleased with this product. I tried hot wax (Sally Hansen's lavendar version for sensitive skin) While the hot wax did not irritate my skin - it was tedious, messy, and hard to get the right temperature. This Moom - was so much easier because it is easy to get off with water and reapply. With the wax, it sometimes clung to my skin and then I had to remove patches of it. This doesn't happen with Moom. Plus, I love that it is made of environmentally friendly products - even the strips are reusable!

I heard my girlfriend talking (isn't that how this stuff starts?) about how she gave up shaving for waxing and will never go back. As someone with horribly sensitive skin, I decided to give in and try waxing. Doing some research, I discovered that sugaring is waxing's nice cousin and felt it would be better for my skin than regular waxing.
Pros: - MOOM is easy to heat - Comes with plenty of strips to work with - Easy to remove excess sugar with damp washrag - Can go over same area if needed - Keeps skin soft Cons: - MOOM needs reheating every 15 minutes or so - Harder to remove coarse hair (had to go over a few spots three or four times) - Gets oily if used in same spot more than twice I have used MOOM on my underarm, bikini and legs with fantastic results. I've never been waxed before and this was a first time experience that I actually enjoyed, if that is possible with hair removal. I did experience some very minor and not visible bruising with use, but as this was my first time it could have been an error on my part. I will answer questions if you would like to message me a question about use. |
