Great New Old Time,

This is what you get with smooth fiddling, terrific clawhammer banjo (I wonder who taught him play that well?) and an on the money rhythm section. This maiden voyage CD by Virginia's Buck Mountain Band proves that not all great old time music has to come off scratchy 78 rpms.

I just picked this up & was greatly surprised & pleased to hear Bluegrass legend Larry McPeak playing guitar & singing within a string-band context! Their first CD features Bob Taylor (a descendant of Gov. Alf. Taylor!) fiddling, his wife Sue playing guitar & Debbie Larson playing bass. Also, another highlight of the album is the superb clawhammer banjo playing of one Dan Peck, an extraordinary player if there ever was one. Greatly recommended!
