4.0 out of 5 stars Merry Christmas, Moon Knight!, January 19, 2012
This review is from: Moon Knight Vol. 4: The Death of Marc Spector (Paperback)
Marc's in trouble! Both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Thunderbolts are after the Moon Knight! As Tony Stark and Norman Osborn chase the white knight through the streets of New York, Marc realizes he's in too deep this time and needs the help of Khonshu once again. As Norman sends his team to attack Frenchie at his restaurant in an attempt to bait the Moon Knight out of hiding, it works and the whole team, which includes Radiation Man, Venom, Mr. Strucker, Songbird, Bullseye, and Moonstone, are out to get him. Norman becomes desperate and hires Bullseye to put the Moon Knight down for good and at the same time, Marc gets the whole team back together as Jean-Paul, Crawley, Marlene, and Ray all want to help Marc finish the fight. However, Marc realizes that in order to end this battle that he cannot win, he must die.

After issues #21-25 of the regular series, we get the Moon Knight: Silent Knight one-shot Christmas comic. This comic entails Moon Knight hunting down some thugs on the eve of Christmas all while getting an earful from Khonshu and nearly standing Marlene up on a Christmas date. However, Moon Knight always pulls through in the end.

This TPB is a good one with lots of characters introduced and a good perspective on just how important it is to everyone that Moon Knight is taken down for good. Stark and Osborn struggle to gain control of the operation and Moon Knight struggles to stay alive. Seeing Venom and the others in action was cool and the decision to die just shows how desperate Marc is to end the suffering not only for himself but for his friends. Moon Knight went from a praised vigilante to the hostile target of both the Thunderbolts and S.H.I.E.L.D. The final volume is up next and I can't wait to see how Marc gets back into the fire!

3.0 out of 5 stars The end of the beginning, November 8, 2009

This review is from: Moon Knight Vol. 4: The Death of Marc Spector (Paperback)
A good solid read. Not the best of the recent Moon Knight tpbs as it was very predictable but the fight between Bullseye & Moon Knight was good. The ending of the main story leads us into the next chapter in the life of Moon Knight. There's also an interesting hint thrown in that there might be more to Khonshu than has previously been revealed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rocky Takeover, March 31, 2009
Now that Benson has fully taken over duties from Huston, the book has lost some of the darkness and mystery that attracted me to the first three volumes. It's not bad, if a little on the short side, and I love the character. I just liked Huston's character a little more. One thing that has really hurt the book, however, is the absense of artist David Finch. He brought Moon Knight to life like no other and each new artist seems to be drifting further and further away from the original vision, or re-envisioning. Hopefully things pick up in the next volume.
