I am God,
By Todd Wallop "Todd Wallop" (Sherman Oaks, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Moon Looked Down & Laughed (Audio CD)
Last proper Virgin Prunes album (although it's already minus Dik, Guggi and Dave-id) and it's as amazing as all the others. This time out, though, there is a distinctly new sonic polish (strings, wind chimes) courtesy of producer David Ball (Soft Cell). At times this really sounds like the Psychedelic Furs. "I am God" is one INTENSE song! A very um, "dark" record...

Their Second best!,
This review is from: Moon Looked Down & Laughed (Audio CD)
This is second only to "If I Die". Their are a few throw away tracks on this disc... this is the disc that was something of a precursor to Gavin Friday's own solo stuff (which is'nt nearly as good as V.P.). It is worth the money but don't expect this to sound anything like their other albums - probably mostly due to their producer at the time. Still very good though.
