Sexy paranormal romantica!,
This review is from: Moon Lust - Bitten (Paperback)
This is the first book I read from Sherri L. King's Moon Lust series (this being the second installment) and I absolutely loved it. The story can stand on its own because a lot of the things that happened in the first offering fall into place in this one. Bitten is a luscious, romantic story of a struggling artist who meets the love of her life in the most interesting way. Julia works at a five-star hotel in New York to make ends meet and is unhappy with her uneventful life. That is until she meets the unforgivably sexy and mysterious Nikolai. Julia sees that Nikolai is not an ordinary man, especially during the bizarre moments in which he avoids her right after seducing her, not to mention his animalistic tendencies, but she is still shocked when Nikolai tells her that he is an alpha werewolf from the deep forests of Russia. Now it is Julia's job to keep Nikolai from changing into wolf in the heart of New York City...
This novel is more romance than erotica, but it is wonderful all the same. The story is enthralling, the characters are compelling and the sex scenes are pretty hot. Actually, with the exception of the scene in which Julia torments and teases Nikolai while he is tied up to the bed in a wolf-like, uncontrollable state, the scenes are not so very steamy, but the story is so good that I didn't care. I have taken an interest in paranormal fiction, especially if it's erotic and/or romantic, and this is as good as it gets. Sherri L. King is a great romance author. Ellora's Cave has once again satisfied me (so to speak) with this wonderful novel. I shall read other stuff by Ms. King. Highly recommended...

Sherri King does it again...,

This review is from: Moon Lust - Bitten (Paperback)
Sherri L King, one of the undisputed QUEENS of Ellora's Cave Romantica publishing, does it again with this second book of a series. The MoonLust books (4 right now, with a 5th in the works) create a world of cross-genre fiction that pulls you into the characters and their lives. Her writing is cross-your-legs-attack-your-husband-do-not-read without-a-fresh-supply-of-batteries HOT, and even though this book can stand alone... you will want to buy the other three and start emailing Ms. King to finish the fifth NOW!! If you like Erotic Romance (or Romantica as it is being called), Werewolves, Alpha Men, Strong Female Leads, and happy endings... this is a book for your keeper shelf (or Keeper Document file as the case may be). Ms. King also writes "The Horde Wars" series (about a demon fighting race of men and the women who kick butt with them), and some Vampire tales (with some cool twists)! Check out her other series at Ellora's Cave

Not bad book in a series that is promising,

Nikolai is in town for a save the forests convention-not unexpected as he's a werewolf. The plot is pretty basic Werewolf sees girl (Julia who is working the front desk n the hotel he's staying at), werewolf gets girl, werewolf goes walkabout in central park. Girl (on the advice of older werewolf) goes after him; as she's starting her change some muggers get what they deserve.
Several good erotic scenes and some humor as well but light plot; better than average for the genre but not exceptional.

Superb New Alpha Male Series!,
This review is from: Moon Lust - Bitten (Paperback)
I'm a big fan of Ms King's "Horde Wars" series and thought I'd give this one a try. I thought it was about vampires, but its not---its about Werewolves!! I was pleasantly surprised. Put your myths aside please!!
This is Nikolai and Julia's story. Nikolai is the leader of the Ural Mountain pack family. He's Alpha, definitely--but he's good, kind and decent. Julia goes from a wilting, self-conscious people pleaser, to a wonderful, confident, sexy woman. This book was SEXY HOT!!! Sometimes books labeled erotica sacrifice good writing for the----um---"eroticism." Not true with this very talented writer. Her writing is excellent, her storylines fresh and imaginative. I wait (impatiently) for the rest of the series. I highly recommend "The "Horde Wars" series as well.

I think I have really grown to like this author. This is the second book I have read by Sherri L King. I really liked the book. I like the werewolf erotic theme of it. The sex is hot. The story was good. I like how Sherri makes the heroines real to life (not beautiful and not skinny) but she always makes the men "hot" and they think their women are the most beautiful things in the world (how can you not love that). I just thought the ending of the book could have used a few more pages to explain the epilogue. Also - at the end - The Alpha male got a little soft on being jealous. He wasn't "mad" he just seemed concerned.

OK - quick fun read,

This was a fun / quick read. Nothing too earth shattering. I enjoyed the characters of Julia and Nikolai and the basic development of their mating / bonding. But they both seemed a little naive to me. I have now read the first and second in this series, but do not find the other titles under this author or by trying to bring up Moon Lust. 206 pages.
