5.0 out of 5 stars A little bit of everything
If you are lookinf for in-depth spiritual, religious, magickal, or scholarly discussion of paganism and/or Wicca, this isn't the book for you. But the invaluable usefulness of this book is that it gives you a vivid, hands-on taste of the world's many spiritual traditions - from Greece, to Egypt, to Ireland, to Africa, to Japan, to China, to Middle America, etc etc...

3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat lacking, but not bad for beginners.
Moon Magick was not the huge disappointment I expected it to be. It does give decent rituals (although Conway should emphasize that a rapport should be established with any deity before they are called into ritual, and significant research conducted as well.) I found the recipies to be not at all to my taste, and her moon lore sections were mildly pointless. I can't say...

If you are lookinf for in-depth spiritual, religious, magickal, or scholarly discussion of paganism and/or Wicca, this isn't the book for you. But the invaluable usefulness of this book is that it gives you a vivid, hands-on taste of the world's many spiritual traditions - from Greece, to Egypt, to Ireland, to Africa, to Japan, to China, to Middle America, etc etc. Through myths, rituals, recipies, crafts, and holidays you familiarize yourself with a diverse array of cultures. This book helps you figure out which cultures you feel most compatible with so that you could pursue them further through in-depth books. Other than that, this book brings the lunar year to life with fun activities you could do to imbue the seasons with spiritual meaning and celebrate the moon's many phases.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, December 4, 1999
This review is from: Moon Magick: Myth & Magic, Crafts & Recipes, Rituals & Spells (Llewellyn's Practical Magick) (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book. I loved all the myths and pictures. The only thing I didn't like about it, is most of the chapters are for the months, therefore you should only read those chapters in a particular month, so you can't really read the book straight through, but it is still a great book. Great rituals and practices. Wonderful recipes. Blessed Be!

I have had Moon Magick for a few years and I always pick it up and read some of it again. It has great information on the Lunar Cycle and Moon Goddesses. The back of the book has a very useful list of several goddesses from around the world. It also has great recipes, crafts and lore for every month of the lunar year. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a fun informational book.

I thought this was a great book. It gives you great ideas for each month. The book is set up on a monthly basis. There are rituals, dieties, and spell crafting that pertains to each month. I really enjoyed it and thought it was well worth the money. I would recommend it to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Moon Magick Recipe Book, December 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Moon Magick: Myth & Magic, Crafts & Recipes, Rituals & Spells (Llewellyn's Practical Magick) (Paperback)
It's a great book for experienced people, lots of information about the Moon and it's mythology, and spells. I didn't give it a 5 stars rating because it does'nt explain basic concepts and tends to be a little confusing for beginners as myself, but it's really useful if you're already knowledgeable about the Craft.

This book is seperated into months and from there tells important days to different cultures, goddesses associated with that month as well as spells and recipes for that month. Also gives the name of each month's full moon as well as explains the blue moon. An excellent reference book for any witch to have on hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is very Useful!, April 14, 2000
This review is from: Moon Magick: Myth & Magic, Crafts & Recipes, Rituals & Spells (Llewellyn's Practical Magick) (Paperback)
I thought that this book was full of really great reciepes, and other craft like ideas for any pagan or any one else interested in the history of certain dates and sachets and such for better dreams or more restful sleep or etcetra. It is a must have when your a beginning wiccan and don't know much about a certain time of year. And also great for the old timers of the religion to look up some refreshing, quick, not deep thought, oops that sabbatt seems to snuck up on me ideas.

I say a great buy and well put together.

Once again Conway has given us a book about many diffrent culturals. This one is the lunar aspect of that. I love how it is set up on a moon month system allowing one to feel as if they were traveling the year as they are reading the text. I love the suggested rutuals for each month too. A great guide for beginers of moon magick. A must have for any Conway fan.

I have used this book almost every month in some way. I love that the author has addressed all cultures and gives recipes, crafts, and Ritual ideas. All phases of the moon are also addressed. I highly recommend most of D.J. Conway's books, especially this one.
