This review is from: Moon Metro Amsterdam (Paperback)
What the blurb doesn't mention: this is the only current guidebook to fully cover the trendy Eastern Docklands area, with its cool contemporary architecture (totally different from central Amsterdam) and hip shops. Few visitors make it to this neighborhood because it's not even mentioned in most guides. The book also tells you where you can take an excellent small-boat tour of the canals that's completely different from the usual tourist boats, as well as places to get great street food, like hot stroopwafels (crispy caramel-filled cookies) and the best frites (french fries) in town. Enjoy your trip!

This review is from: Moon Metro Amsterdam (Paperback)
This guidebook is typical of most of the Moon Metro series: it has everything you need to use, its compact (the fold out maps are the best) and it covers a variety of hip spots in the city. I just picked up a copy for a friend who will be traveling there for the first time. Although Moon Metro: Amsterdam (UNFORTUNATELY) hasn't been updated since 2002, I'm confident she'll find it extremely useful.
